Product Description

Nowadays we are so used to using the PC and we have come acquainted with track pads, multi-touch displays etc. that we no longer need the confirmation of a clicking action. You know when you have clicked or double clicked. You see a graphical reaction of your clicking on the screen and PC's are so fast these days that you practically never have to wait for your PC to respond. So you simply do not need a clicking-sound confirmation of your action... you know when you have clicked or not. So why still hear the clicking sound? Well it turns out that this is part of switching-technology and it is not so easy to remove the physical sound when clicking. We have managed to find a solution. With using some patented switching technology we (finally) have created a soundless/noiseless mouse.

The mouse suffers stuttering and skipping problems. Frequently, the pointer will disappear and reappear somewhere else on the screen. Very frustrating. I assumed it was caused by 2.4GHz interference, but i removed all other 2.4GHz peripherals, and am still seeing the problem.

It also has problems with the buttons getting stuck when you alternate between right and left clicks.

However, the clicking is pretty quiet. But not entirely "silent" as the name would lead you to believe.

I bought this product because it was wireless, silent and easy to use. I'm currently a college student that needed something quiet to use while in the library. It was perfect, I couldn't hear the clicking noise to much at all, and it was nice and smooth. Over in a two week span, the left button popped up and started to make clicking noises which made myself peeved. Next the mouse wouldn't pick up a signal from the USB receiver. After two weeks of moderate use, the mouse died on me. I changed the batteries thinking that was just it but when I tried to use this mouse, it wouldn't turn on anymore. This product seems very clean cut but isn't. I recommend you don't buy this due to the fact the cheap core this mouse actually has.

It is important to read other reviews and I saw some good and bad so I went with this mouse anyways, that was a mistake.

The reason people are reporting "ghosting", skipping, and stuttering is as follows:
Most optical mice simply use a red beam to "read" where the mouse is located on the desktop at any time. This is why a mousepad is no longer needed. There is no physical ball to roll, etc.

In a mystifying decision of backwardness, this mouse -is- designed with a physical component. It channels it's red beam into a small plastic foot that touches the desk and protudes beyond the bottom of the mouse. As the mouse receives more and more usage this foot eventually bends a bit due to the pressure of everyday mousing.

What happens then? It either will lose its track, skip, or simply cease to work.

Reboxed, and returned to vendor. This is a silly design.

Oh, it is quiet...

I wanted a quiet mouse because the loud clicks were coming through during skype conversations and teleconferences.

I also have two computers hooked up to the a monitor/keyboard/speaker switch.
Many wireless devices (even bluetooth) do not support that kind of switching because you have to pair the device with the dongle receiver.

Not so with this mouse! It works perfectly with both computers and does not require "repairing"!

Love it.

UPDATE:

After 2 weeks of use, the left mouse button has started to "squeak" when pressed. Now, it actually does sound like a live mouse. I may have to return it and get a new one. Until then, I'm dropping my rating by 1 star.

The mouse is very very quiet - this I am pleased by. However, I find that the pointer doesn't reliably track the motions of the mouse. There are times I'm rapidly scrolling and the mouse pointer motion is jerky. It appears to not recognize movement for very brief periods of time, causing the jerking/inaccurate scrolling experience. I do not believe there is any interference from other wireless devices nearby - moving these closer/further away (even a few rooms away) does not obviously affect this behavior.

While generally this would simply be annoying, for gaming purposes it becomes unacceptable. If you need high mouse accuracy I'd recommend another selection.

I bought this for my son several years ago and it saved me from killing him. The click-click-click of his other mouse was so loud, I hated it when he was gaming on the PC. This new mouse is perfectly silent and has lasted him several years. I will never buy a non-silent mouse for him again.

The markings on the plastic housing and the markings on the white battery eject flap are incorrect. By putting in the batteries like that they started to burn up. The batteries must be installed per the instruction manual to make the mouse work.

Nexus SM-7000B Silent Mouse

When I first purchased this mouse I was thrilled. I could press on the button repeatedly with out making more then a whisper. However, my cursor stopped moving in under a week. I've been told that lazer lights burn out on wireless mouses sometimes and that it's an easy fix but....I work constantly, I really wasn't having to expect to run an errand for this product fresh out of the package. I'm really disappointed because I live in the country and the closest electric store isn't a quick ride for me. 30 dollars for a mouse that stopped working in mere days. When you can get a mouse now with out putting much of a dent in your pocket this just seems outrageous. It wasn't dropped, it didn't get wet, it didn't even really see regular use. So on those grounds I really can't endorse this product.
