I was looking for a nice shelf for my office to fit in alongside photos of my extended family where I could store a few rather large books that I refer to on a regular basis. This took them off my desk, yet kept them readily available and the shelf looks GREAT next to my photos - artistic in style all on it's own. With a round candle on the top, it's very attractive! Might buy another for next to my bed. I hate a cluttered nightstand, but like my books and magazines close at hand.

I was happy to see how the shelf looked coming out of the box, although assembly was still needed. well i Looked at the directions, and realized i have duplicate pieces and 2 of the pieces should have little spaces in them, which they do not. If you like getting the right parts, id suggest looking for a different shelf. Very dissappointed.

I really liked this easy to put together item. It was very substantial looking and looks great in the space!

I got this shelf to display a small mineral collection and it actually worked pretty well. I was disappointed that it was made of plastic and not of real wood. However, you do not notice that this is not wood unless you examine it really closely. It is fairly heavy and requires putting thick nails into a wall. The back board is on a heavy/thick side. I think, if it were thinner, the shelf would have looked better. Not withstanding all this, I like how this shelf works above my desk. There are no large manufacturing defects and assembly was easy.

Warning be prepared for a cheap shelf made out of paper.
Do not waste your money!

I was planning to use this wall shelving unit for my component system, under a large flat-screen TV. Unfortunately I did not check the shelf dimensions carefully - too small for typical components - center speaker, cable box & receiver. I liked the simple, black wood idea - I wish they could have offered larger shelves. Went with Sanus Systems Visionmount Component Wall Mounts instead, which do nicely, handle lots of weight, manage wiring, etc.
