This is a delightful story about a white bunny who falls in love with a beautiful Black girl. The bunny tries everything to turn himself Black. In the end he marries a Black bunny and they have grey, black and white bunnies. A very positive book which deals with racial bias, and racial differences. A positive story for children of all races.

This review is from: Niña bonita (Paperback)
This book is a unique and empowering tale of the beauty of blackness. In a society, that constantly devalues black skin, this book is a refreshing change. The white bunny is desirous of the beautiful black color that Nina Bonita has. Nina Bonita's black skin is prized, desired and envied by the little white bunny. Ultimately, after a basic science lesson about how color is inherited and passed on, the bunny finds a beautiful black rabbit mate and has a variety of multi-hued bunnies. Children of color will hear the empowering message that there is beauty in their color and that others are able to recognize that beauty. I was so excited to find this book. It is fabulous!
