Editorial Reviews

From School Library Journal

Grade 2-4-- During a trip to the mall, Jenny samples a product being tested on the public. After she finds out that her comments about the mysterious pellets will be part of a television commercial, she begins to imagine what her life will be like when she is rich and famous. Then the ad airs, and Jenny is horrified to learn that she has gushed over the delicious taste of gerbil food, and that the producers want to televise the spot nationally. Conford has created another hilarious chapter book about this enthusiastic heroine. Young readers will respond to Jenny's sense of humor and adventure, as well as her emotional ups and downs. While parents and friends are not a major focus, they do provide a loving and stable background for the unfolding of events. This tasty treat will whet children's appetites for more Jenny Archer tales. --Jana R. Fine, Clearwater Public Library System, FL

This review is from: Nibble, Nibble, Jenny Archer (Jenny Archer Chapter Book) (Paperback)
Jenny Archer is a character in a series of books written by Ellen Conford. In each of the books, Jenny becomes involved in some kind of adventure. In this particular book, Jenny is chosen to appear in a TV commercial for a new food. Her over zealous interest in a budding acting career, becomes a source of annoyance to her family and friends. When the commercial finally airs on TV, there is a terrible twist and Jenny becomes the brunt of much teasing by her peers. Will she survive? Knowing Jenny, she'll probably pull through. This book is a good reading level for 3rd-4th graders depending on interest. Ellen Conford is a wonderful children's author.
