Very informative and Philosophical,
By "conniestonehill" (Boulder, CO) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Nic-the Habit: Cigarette Smoking Kills.Com (Paperback)
I have tried to quit smoking many times, but I always went back to smoking when times got rough. This book helped me deal with the tough times: I really enjoyed the Chapters on spirituality: Free will, Non Judgment, The message and the two chapters on meditation. I was horrified reading about all the chemicals and toxins and the second-hand smoke research within the book. The book makes a lot of sense about going inward to quit smoking. For those who have had a difficult time with quitting, going inward has helped me and gave me strength to deal with my addiction and realize that I have the power to say no.. It sounds simple, and it is. The book is a bit harsh at times, but all and all I has helped me not want to go back to smoking.

Doesn't fulfil any of its promises,

This book is just rubbish, in my opinion. It's full of typos. It's written in barely readable English. It just waffles on. It does have a little bit of useful content, but from the reviews you'd think it was terrific, and I promise you, it absolutely is not.

Great book!,

This book helped me quit smoking and also got be to go back to the gym. I lost 30 pounds in one month. The book gave me back my life. The book has some assignments that are necessary to re-examine yourself and realize just how destructive cigarettes are to your whole spirit. This book is more than a smoking cessation book, it is about the author's journeys to quit smoking, along with his life and him finding himself in Nepal. His lessons learned are shared with the reader to help them also quit. I am an Executive in Stocks and I am a type A personality and this book has helped me to relax and take 10 minutes a day to myself to just relax and be silent within. I also got the hypnotic CD from cigarettesmokingkills.com to help with meditation and relaxation. This book is Perfect for anyone who wants to quit smoking or for a friend or family member who needs to quit!Jason Tyler

Quit Smoking while you smoke.,
By Matt Lopez (Woodside, California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Nic-the Habit: Cigarette Smoking Kills.Com (Paperback)
I was given this book for XMAS and to tell the truth, I did not want to quit smoking. I hate people, who prech how bad smoking is for your health. I loved smokiing and it helped me deal with my job, kids and wife. I have five kids. Smoking was my only vice. I also did not care about going inside myself. ... Even while reading the book, i felt that it just another stupid quit smoking book, preaching how bad smoking is. The book does preach at times but it is also very philosophical and scientific. So, I continued to read on and do the relaxation techniques each night and followed the assignments. Well it has been 5 months, since my last puff and I won't go back! I nic-ed my Nic-o-tine addiction. This book helped me rethink my life. The book is not for everyone, being that you must do the exercises and most people don't like to follow directions, second the book is a bit too harsh. You also must smoke while reading it. This i found limiting. But how can I complain about a book that helped me quit! Read it!

Great for the new year, Self improvement,
By Jen Thomas (Elmsford, New York) - See all my reviews

I bought three books for my family members so they could also quit smoking. It has been three months and I have not had one cigarette, since reading the book. The book offers an alternative to other quit smoking books--Going inward to help you end your addiction. I was shock about the horrid stuff found in cigarette smoke and the research quoted in the book about second-hand smoke was enough to make me want to quit. I realized the desire to quit is often not good enough. This book helped me with my spirit, so I could be strong enough to bear the withdrawal symptoms and the weight gain.

A new approach to quiting smoking.,
By Norma Sobar (Jackson, Michigan) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Nic-the Habit: Cigarette Smoking Kills.Com (Paperback)
I attempted to quit smoking for the year 2000, but I went back after second weeks. This book is not for everyone, because it deals with spirituality, going inward and relying on your inner will. This was really very difficult for me to do and at times, I really did not want to deal with all the assignment within the book, such as recording my smoke patterns, regressing back to my first experiences with tobacco and doing the relaxation exercises, along with other tasks. I also thought many times the author was repeating himself and his words were a bit too harsh. At times, I really did not like the author and wanted to throw the book in the trash! However, I made a promise with myself to finish the book till completion. This was one of the assignments in the book. Not to judge and finish it till completion. I am glad that I did! My anger is now, towards the tobacco company and how I allowed myself to be brain-washed by them. I also realized that I had a severe addition to Nicotine. I was shocked about all the chemical found within tobacco and its smoke. I at times wondered if this could be true. If all of those chemicals are truly within cigarettes.. My god.. Why isn't tobacco illegal? The books takes more than 2 weeks to complete, but it is well worth it. I am disgusted with tobacco and pray to god that I never touch another tobacco product. It has only been three weeks and the craving are still here, but I really believe this time I can do it. I take one day at a time and focus on the here and now.

Encouraging!,

I never thought a book would help me stop smoking. This guy has been there- His book was just the push I needed. I was surprised to read about all the added toxins in cigarettes- he really did his research! I loved the assignments because it gave me an attainable goal to strive for rather than simply reading that I should quit. I knew that already! It was hard and still is but I did it and when I get the urge to go back, I pull out the book and look at all the bad things that are associated with cigarettes. It's a wonderful book!

It's in the Cards for You to Buy This Book,
By Irael (Oakland Gardens, NY United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Nic-the Habit: Cigarette Smoking Kills.Com (Paperback)
Being a Psychic and Relaxation Therapist, I intuitively ordered Nic the Habit, not for myself-I'm a non smoker-but for 3 of my clients who claimed they wanted to stop smoking if only there was something that would help them stop smoking, short of the patch. Nic the Habit proved to be that magical something. Of the 3 clients, the 2 men are: a Physican and a Construction Worker; the woman is a Hairdresser with her own Salon. All were under high stress and used smoking as a crutch until they read Nic the Habit and found out they were poisioning themselves. The author really did his homework. He lists thousands of toxic chemicals and other scientific data without making the book stuffy and hard to read. This book has bridged the conundrum of how to be scientific yet spiritual. I loved this book. And if you are a smoker or someone you love is a smoker-it's in the cards for you to buy this book.

Not Just for Smokers,
By "pulisunshine" (Long Island, NY USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Nic-the Habit: Cigarette Smoking Kills.Com (Paperback)
I am not a smoker but Joe's book caught my attention because it focuses not only on smoking but on spirituality and losing weight. After reading the book, it made me realize that when people smoke they aren't the only ones affected by this terrible, disgusting habit. The people around smokers are also affected. I will not allow anybody to smoke near me since secondhand smoke is just as bad. I was very impressed with the book because it is very informative, very interesting and easy to read. I hope everybody gets the chance to read it, then maybe some day we will have a non-smoking world with healthier, happier people and a cleaner environment.

Finally, I did it! I am a non-smoker,
By Michael Kleinman (New York) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Nic-the Habit: Cigarette Smoking Kills.Com (Paperback)
This book is excellent, There are assignments that you have to follow, but they are very simple and easy. The author takes a tough, spiritual, but scientific approach to help his readers quit. I can for the first time say that, yeah I can handle all the depression, withdrawal symptoms, the headaches, everything associated with quitting, fore I am strong and I have choice. This is what I learned from Nic-the habit. I also bought his Hypnotic CD at the author's website... I still have have withdrawal symptoms, but so what.. Smoking kills and it is worth not smoking again. I finally choose health over illness.
