Accurate but Sarcastic,

We purchased this book for our two-month trip to Nicaragua.
The thing I like least about this guidebook is that the author is VERY sarcastic. I just can't get past his satirical tone and I am never quite sure if he is just trying to be humorous or if he truely believes things are as awful as he describes in Nicaragua (they aren't). I do, however, feel the information in the book is very accurate. Everything has been as described. I wish the author would provide more info on off-the-beaten path and unique activities. The author describes many of the same types of things to do and see in each town, with no much effort to search out untraditional and creative activities. For example, the book has plenty of hotel and dining options, and mentions tons of churches, but it is thin on other sights and things to do. I do, however, feel the info presented is accurate and usually affordable. In sum, it is decent Nicaragua guide book with accurate info, but a bit boring.

The book is well done. With the new technologies, we would appreciate more pictures and more interaction.

When people think of sunny vacation spots, they usually lose out by not considering Nicaragua. "Footprint Nicaragua" is another entry in the footprint series, elaborating and giving much information and knowledge on magnificent potential vacation destination of Nicaragua. With much information on everything to its active yet attractive volcanoes, the local music and flavors, the diverse wildlife and environment, and so much more, "Footprint Nicaragua" is very much recommended for anyone looking to visit central America this winter.
