feels like the exploding hearts,
This review is from: Nice Boys (Audio CD)
i purchased this album off of apple i tunes and took it to work on my ipod.having been a big fan of the exploding hearts R.I.P i had to hear what terry was up to and this album does not disappoint. "johnny guitar" and "another girl" just blew me away.i listened to this masterpiece for 8 hours straight if you loved the hearts you will love this. by the way it sounds like they used some pre recorded vocals from adam on "johnny guitar" i could be wrong but it sounds like him.

becoming one of my all time favorites,

The best bands are the ones who bring back the past, but without putting a finger on it. In guitarist Terry Six's last band The Exploding Hearts there were moments that could remind you of the Buzzcocks, Nick Lowe, or the Undertones. There was something of a hidden euphoria, because instantly the songs would sound great, and you couldn't get tired of them because they were so sweet sounding.
Moving past the Exploding Hearts tragedy, Six hasn't lost his touch. He, along with members of the Riffs, made songs just like the Hearts did: Swooning surf guitar lines, endearing lines, and altogether a album with soul and vitality. You may call it retro rock and roll, I'll call it perfection.

A real grower,

This record is really good. It's not slick or new or trendy. It's just solid song after song in the vein of Nick Lowe, Tom Petty, and Bad Finger. Like Turbonegro's Apocalyse Dudes, you'll be combing through your vinyl collection to trace the roots of some of these hooks. For such a young band, this is a pretty incredible feat.

This album is a classic. It is a highly advanced combination of Power Pop greats such as Cheap Trick, The Ramones, The Boys, The Undertones and The Raspberries. Even though there are snippets of these bands swirling throughout this disc, ultimately, the sound is very original. This is one of the best rock bands today.
