4.0 out of 5 stars Cute - For Witches, not Wiccans
I saw this book at Barnes & Nobles and thought it was funny. I like little books even if they aren't very practical. I am amused by the "don't buy this" comments from some reviewers. First of and foremost - all Witches are NOT wiccan. Witchcraft and wicca are NOT the same thing. Life is not all love and light and positive. Sometimes it's painful, seething anger, and...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not seriously for the Wiccan tradition BUT....
I see these types of books as a little similar to the hit TV series " Charmed ". That is : a lot of fun and cutesy, but not really based on anything to do with the Wiccan tradition.

The book is a lot of fun, very cute, and with some very basic ideas, but kind of teenage in it's style. Not much use if you have been studying the Wiccan tradition at all, but...

Sometimes it's painful, seething anger, and darkness. When you are reeling from a recent breakup or other emotional trauma, the IDEA of turning the ex into a toad is enough to put a smile on your face and put you back in the light. This is humor people - try some!

5.0 out of 5 stars MY FAVORITE SPELLBOOK IN MY COLLECTION, February 12, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: The Nice Girl's Book of Naughty Spells: Get Rich, Get Lucky, Get Even (Paperback)
Luckily for me, my girlfriend bought me this book when she found out I was interested in learning about spells and white witchcraft, and I couldn't wait to try all the spells inside. It is written in such a fun and clever fashion that you actually don't at first realise how much real magick is inside it. But after a while when the spells start to work and you feel better about yourself and you are able to focus on the positive sides of life more you really notice the difference and the effects are quite astounding. I was amused to read the previous review because it is so obvious this person hasn't even read the book - all my friends and I have however and we love it.

5.0 out of 5 stars INSPIRING,FUN AND A CLEVER INTRO INTO REAL WITCHCRAFT, December 19, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Nice Girl's Book of Naughty Spells: Get Rich, Get Lucky, Get Even (Paperback)
I loved this book, it's not only fun to do the spells but there is a lot of ancient spirituality within the modern way it's presented. My old coven teacher always said that a true master never takes themselves too seriously and Let's face it it's better to let go of bitterness and past woes with a bit of humour and a magical lesson for yourself. I bought one for my girlfriend and she likes to carry it around with her 'cause it gives her a nice feeling. ( for those who take everything literally, Wicca is not the original form of witchcraft so I think some of you guys should lighten up and get a life!) I'd recommend it to anyone young and old.

4.0 out of 5 stars Get Rich, Get Lucky, Get Even..Get This Book, July 21, 2003
This review is from: The Nice Girl's Book of Naughty Spells: Get Rich, Get Lucky, Get Even (Paperback)
First let me say that I'm a practicing teenage wiccan. When I first bought this book I was a little wary of it....mostly the love spells. But the more I read it the more I realized that no spell breaks any wiccan rule. This book is perfect for picking yourself up and having a little fun with your life. Just keep in mind, "An it harm none, do as ye will."

Note**** You have to get your own ingredients they don't come with the book. This book is small, cute and has simple spells that really do work. You can easily buy any of the indredients at your local grocery store or just look in your kitchen cabinet. They are fun to do and the one that I did try Landed me a job. Good Luck have fun I hope All your fun spells come true (with harm to none)

I've noticed that this book has quite the amount of reviews that state it as "nonsense" which brings me to feel as if I may be "bashed on" for putting in my two cents (experience) on what may seem bizarre but is in fact, true.

I would play with the spells in this book since I was 15.. but I did a spell, that actually came true in the bizarrest of ways (hint; it's the one with the spices.. )

lol it was the only one I could do properly since I only had spices at 15, and the spice was all that was required ... but it honestly did bring what it promised.

I can only speak for myself on this account, but I'm just saying, before you even look at the bad reviews .. try the section with the "spices" out .. you don't even have to buy the book .. just give it a try.. (it's very simple to remember; simplicity has it's power too, mind you.) because this continues to boggle me and I want to see more reviews if others experienced the same thing I did.

Excuse me as I go fetch the book and type in the name of the chapter..

Got it! "Spice up your love" page 16.

Did the spell when I was 15.. met a man years later (first boyfriend) who became my best friend and we fell in love, he is now my fiance and strangely enough, he just "happens" to be wealthy as the book stated.

Try it out. I just needed to pass it on.

Many blessings,
- Emily

As much fun as Athena Starwoman's HOW TO TURN YOUR EX-BOYFRIEND INTO A TOAD. Wise, witty, with a lot of swell ideas!

4.0 out of 5 stars A Cover is worth...a lot for people with EYES, April 7, 2008
This review is from: The Nice Girl's Book of Naughty Spells: Get Rich, Get Lucky, Get Even (Paperback)
This is a silly book of frivolity. Obviously the one-star people not only didnt read it, but didnt look at the cover. It looks like the opening of "Bewitched" for pity's sake! Its cute and well written for what it is. I would recommend it as a side-trip from a more serious edicational book. And for those shaking their heads and moaning...just go apologize to mommy and daddy for rebelling and get thee back to church. Most of us explore magick to find answers, not to be locked into the same overserious narcissistic garbage as bible-bangers. Also, as others have said..not all witches are wiccan. Bang on the Rede all you like, and complain about what others think of Witchcraft...the only person it matters to is you, because you are the only one you answer to, if you are true.

4.0 out of 5 stars Really Cute Book, November 29, 2004
By
This review is from: The Nice Girl's Book of Naughty Spells: Get Rich, Get Lucky, Get Even (Paperback)
I just purchased this book recently and it's just a very cute book. It's very easy to read and go along with. I'm only interested in doing one spell but am not quite sure what one of the ingredients is. Can anyone tell me what orange essence is and where can I find it?

Quite simple and easy spells, some of which I personally wouldnt do (you're the one I want) cuz it messes with other people's free will, but other than that I am pleasantly surprised with both content and presentation.
