Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

In PW 's words, "Joyce cleverly evokes the dimly lit speakeasies of Hollywood. Monocled, zoot-suited insects frequent Nick's Cafe where . . . a turtle sports a top hat, and at dawn 'the Bug-a-Wugs grow sleepy and still.' " Ages 4-8.

We read this book until it fell apart to our children, so it was a delight to buy it for a friend's child.

My children are now 24 and 21. I've passed along most of their childhood books but this is one of the very few they have told me to hold onto. There really is something magical about it, especially for musical children.
