Product Description

It had always been raining in Nick Aldo's life. It was raining on the on the day he was born, and on that horrific day he'll never forget. He was use to it. He knew what it meant. When he received the knock waking him up from his sleep, he was just trying to escape the rain. He knew it was trouble.

It's a good thing that this book was as short as it was, because all of the spelling, grammar and punctuation errors were distracting and made it difficult to read. The plot was also difficult to follow. The main character, however was believable and sympathetic as a bereaved father/hard-boiled 'detective.' The author would be well-advised to find a proofreader/editor because he has some good ideas and talent that, once honed, could produce a great book.

Drummond, has grown to be a favorite author of mine. I first received recommendation to buy one of his works via the website Twitter.

In Escaping The Rain, which is a Novelette. We are introduced to the character Nick Aldo. He is a funny and sarcastic character with a darker tone. The writing is witty, punchy, and at sometimes downright raunchy. Nick Aldo holds no punches as he draws you into his world.

Nick Aldo is a man fighting many demons himself. You quickly learn why it is he acts the way he does. I went from thinking he was a heartless (*censored for your eyes*) to actually feeling sorry for him.

This is a quick read, perfect for a plane trip, bus ride, or just late night read. Drummond mentioned that this is the first of a series of works from this character. I eagerly await the next dosage. At $0.99 it's well worth the price tag. I would have definitely paid $5 for the quality plot alone. Although the author lays it right out in your face, the way he skillfully plays with words, I guarantee you will miss it as well. Completely unexpected without using magic or trickery.

Add this writing to your MUST READ list now. If you are a Jeremy Drummond fan, or have never read his writings before, you will not be disappointed.
