This review is from: Abiding Perdition (Paperback)
Abiding Perdition is a fantasy/adventure story that uses the tale of Little Red Riding Hood as footing to kick this story off. Of course the beginning is heavily altered from the source material, but it puts a fresh spin on it, and a firm basis for the plot. Little Red loses her Grandmother to the "big bad wolf", is saved by a great warrior, who in turn raises Red as a warrior as well. When Red grows up she sets off with her adoptive father back to the treacherous lands where she lost her grandmother, to rid it of the evil that inhabits it. That's about as good as it gets. Everything that follows in this story becomes very unclear. Events and characters seem bland, typical, and the plot just seems to become more convoluted as it progresses. Everything continues in this fashion, until it boils to an anti-climactic ending. Honestly a damn shame, because the art is top notch, and the story showed so much promise in the beginning. This story will most likely leave you feeling, disappointed and confused. I wouldn't recommend it.
