Editorial Reviews

2003 Live archive release from the British keyboard legend. The album was recorded during the tour to promote the then current studio album Out There. Rick performed with the New English Rock Ensemble which featured Rick alongside old hands Ashley Holt, Tony Fernandez and new boys Ant Glynne and Lee Pomeroy. This is the first time this album has been commercially released.

I bought this on a whim. I was let down a bit by the new Journey to the Centre of the Earth and decided to not bother with anymore Wakeman albums. This came up in Amazon's "You might be interested in" and I decided to give it a listen. The samples were excellent! I bought the MP3 download and have been glad I did! White Rock soars as always and having a guitar player to play off of must have been a rush. Cathedral in the Sky and Dance of a Thousand Lights are also done brilliantly. There's nothing timey-wimey about this album. This is an album of great music. Enjoy!

I must admit being a hard core English Rock Ensemble fan back in the day. I bought this on a whim and enjoyed it much more than I thought possible. Check it out one of Rick's better releases

This is one of the best live albums I've heard. The whole band is really on and Rick's keyboards sound great. The two pieces from Out There really come off well and the older material is played with terrific energy. In the middle of the disc Rick plays an excellent version of Dance Of A Thousand lights. The record ends with a jaw dropping version of Wurm with a bit of Heart of the Sunrise thrown in, a great bass solo, a guitar solo that seems to last a hour, and the most wonderfully over the top MiniMoog arpeggios I've heard from Rick. And this is all tacked on to the end of White Rock, which is a long solo itself. In short, this is prog heaven. This record blows away the Out Of The Blue live album that was recorded a few years earlier.

Rick Wakeman plays flawlessly. Anyone who loves yes will love listening to this music. Rick Wakeman rocks and flows, speeds through notes and melodies. Synthesize your neurotransmitters with Rick’s battery of notes. Rick Wakemen’s dexterity playing those notes makes Liberace envious in his greave. The sound is also great. You’ll feel like your in the audience. A great live recording.
