4.0 out of 5 stars Fun for kids, but not for toddlers April 2, 2007

Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
I bought this game for my toddler, 3.5yrs, hopeing it would have been a good begginer game. The first level is was great, but the 2nd level was about 20 times harder. Otherwise the game has easy concepts.

5.0 out of 5 stars videogame fun January 2, 2008
Platform for Display:GameCube
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I bought this game for my son. He just loves it and plays it all the time. Not only that, my daughter loves it too. My son and daughter will play the game together and have lots of fun playing. They really enjoy the different levels of the game and cannot put the controls down to stop playing. It's a great game for young kids and kids at heart. If you have young kids, they will enjoy this game because it has spongebob squarepants and all these other characters that the kids like. Your children will enjoy this videogame. You should give it a try.

Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
Who doesn't find Nickelodeon characters charming, adorable, and often extremely irksome? Timmy Turner, Danny Phantom, and, of course, Spongebob Squarepants are just a few of the names this game drops. A pretty standard adventure-platformer mish-mash, this game is a sequel of sorts to "Nicktoons Unite" a mildly enjoyable and similarly focused game. Basically, the bare-bones story involves world peril blah, blah and a mysterious volcano spirity-thing that must be stopped, as par the course. But it's really just an excuse to unite some various characters to have a thrilling (read: extremely average) adventure!

Speaking of adventure, the game is a mix of combat and light platforming, with a few other segments thrown in for good measure. None of these things are particularly engaging or fleshed-out on their own: combat mostly consists of mashing a few buttons and the platforming is really just a few jumps know and then. But it's still pretty fun. And that's the key here.

Each of the characters has some simple but fundamentally meaningless differences in the way they play. They have different moves and special moves which are really mostly cosmetic in the end. Sandy's Sea Urchin Throwing Stars and Timmy's magic blasts do the same thing; but, oh pretty colors! That's what the game wants you to think. It relies on the licensed characters its pushes towards you as its hook, and then delivers bland gameplay for the rest of the experience. It's a truly and utterly tasteless experience. But it isn't broken; it functions and the characters and setting give the game the flavor its pieces individually lack.

There's not much to the game. It's a 6-8 hour romp through a world full of goo-creatures that need a beating. And that romp is simple, sweet, and to the point.
