I'm writing a review to balance out the unhelpful 2-star review that already exists. I like this album. The instrumentation is intimate and the songs are a pleasure many times over. I always enjoy Nico Muhly's compositions. If he's a minor talent, I suppose I'm a minor listener. "Salty Dog" is especially nice. -- written by Caroline's 21-year-old daughter

Nico is not untalented, but his cute looks and charm tend to lead to his music being seriously overrated. If you want to hear a truly dazzling contemporary composer, probably a genius (not a term I use lightly ) listen to Tevot by Thomas Ades. Next to that Nico is a minor talent.
