Nicolas Cage - An Aussies view,
By Sandra Bell (Victoria Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Nicolas Cage: Hollywood's Wild Talent (Paperback)
As a new admirer of N. Cage (Coppola)I found the book a great read. I was, however, disappointed by the lack of personal details. It also seems apparent that the author has not yet met with Nicolas to gain some true insight into the man and his thoughts. A good start for anyone like me wanting to know the basics.

I don't never read, it puts me to sleep, but this book kept my interest, and I found it very interesting to read about my favorite actor and how he got his start and how much effort he puts into his movies. Makes me want to watch some specific movies 'again' now that I read certain things. I'm now waiting for another book on Nicolas Cage!

It gives you an inside look at how Nic prepares for a role and much background on each of his movies. I was a little disappointed that it did not share really anything about his personal life, except it did share the relationship between the Coppolla's. If you haven't seen all of his movies, you will want to watch each one after reading this book.

Nic inside and out!,

This author must have actually talked to Mr. Cage and done some research. It is a much better book than Uncaged... and there are lots of details. Again, the only problem is the author neglected to mention Tiempo di Uciddere- a film Cage made in 1989. Besides that this is an indepth look at a very complicated man.... and a good actor.

A very thorough, un-biased, easy-reading biography.,

Robb's book is well organized, well researched and reads like a novel. His style is captivating enough to be read in a single sitting and includes quotes, pictures and tidbits of information not readily available elsewhere. This is the kind of book you can put down feeling inspired by an extemely talented actor's approach to acting and life. It is not apparent, however, if Robb has actually met or interviewed Nic himself. I think more depth could've been added by Robb painting a better portrait of what one might experience or how one might react to meeting Nic off-screen.

This book is a great book for new fans, and as an old fan it was fun to review his movies again. Book has 58 b&w photos, and is up to date on his movies including City of Angles. It's a book that anyone could have wrote knowing where to look for the information, but I'm glad I did not have to do the work of research. I truly injoyed this book.

i personally think that there should be a little bit more information on real authors like Nicolas Gage, who a veery influential writer who has written books such as The Mafia is not an Equal Opportunity Employer and Reflections of Greece. Both books were recieved very well in the literary world, unlike Nicolas Cage's book.
