Nicorette Gum 4mg CLASSIC/REGULAR is not an ordinary gum so you should not chew it constantly. To make sure you get the most from your Nicorette Gum, use the Nicorette chewing technique. Chew gum slowly until taste becomes strong (approx 1 minute). Rest gum between teeth and gum then chew gum again once taste has faded. Most people initially use 8 to 12 pieces of 4mg or 2mg Gum each day depending on when they feel the urge to smoke. You should use the gum for at least 12 weeks and then gradually reduce the number of pieces you chew. Use no more than 24 pieces of gum a day. Package insert contains detailed directions for use.

Purpose/Usage
Use Nicorette Gum between smoking episodes to prolong smoke-free intervals and with the intention of reducing your smoking as much as possible. If after 6 weeks you have not reduced the number of cigarettes smoked each day, then you should seek professional advice. You should try to quit smoking as soon as you feel ready, but no later than 6 months after starting your treatment. If 9 months has passed since starting Nicorette Gum and you have still not been able to make a serious attempt at quitting smoking, then seek professional advice.

Do not use if you are allergic to nicotine, are a non-smoker or a child. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are pregnant or breast feeding. If you have peptic ulcer disease, cardiovascular disease, diabetes or hyperthyroidism consult your doctor before using this product. Always read the label carefully and use strictly as directed.
