If you search under the Mint flavored Nicorette starter kit, you will see my lengthy review on quitting smoking in general. Regarding this product, the orange flavor is pleasant tasting, but you still get that peppery nicotine taste when you chew it. If I had to choose between one or the other, I would probably go with the mint flavor, especially if you're just starting out, as it's closer to regular mint flavored gum that you're already familiar with.

My main complaint about Nicorette isn't regarding the product itself (it does work!) but with the packaging. First of all, the gum is in this plastic covering that isn't very thick so the heat from your body will make the gum stick to the plastic if you keep a few pieces in your pocket. To make matters worse, it's covered in this annoying aluminum foil that almost always sticks to the gum whether it's warm or not. Then the aluminum foil is covered by some thin plastic wrap that always rips apart and never gets enough of the aluminum foil off for you to get the gum out. With all the aggravation you almost want to start smoking again!

If you're looking for a little flavor (or you're just trying to mask the taste) the flavored gums can help. But if you're just getting regular (unflavored) gum, save money and get the store brands. They work just as well and the packaging isn't as annoying either.

The Nicorette almost works too well -- as in my case, it can become a replacement for cigarettes, instead of just a quitting aid. You can chew it in all the places where smoking is banned (restaurants, planes, offices, etc.) and noone is the wiser (no more clothes that smell like smoke!) So, be careful, if you really want to be completelly nicotine free, follow their instructions to the letter.
Personally, I like the orange flavor best: it doesn't really taste like orange, it just has a bit of sweetness in the flavor that helps mask the pepper flavor (to me, the original and mint flavor exaggerates that peppery bite )
