Around 1793, a vanilla vine was smuggled from Mexico to the Bourbon Island of Réunion. Just east of the southern portion of Africa, the Bourbon Islands are made up of Réunion, Madagascar, Mauritius, Comoro and Seychelles. (Hence, when we refer to Madagascar Bourbon, we're referring to the region and not to the liquor).

I usually order vanilla beans to make my own vanilla extract for myself and others. I thought I'd try this paste and I'm glad I did. First of all, I can use it right away instead of having to wait 3 weeks for the extract to mature. Second, I like the fact that although I don't have to mess around with the beans when making ice cream, I still get the black specks in anything I make.

Love to use N-M vanilla been paste in creme brulee & homemade ice cream in place of hard to use & expensive vanilla beans. Hard to find where I live so I was pleased to find it here at a great price.

This is a superb product. I've always used their extract. It is wonderful to see the seeds show up in what ever you make with this and the flavor is really superb.

Great produect
