The first time I had Tahitian vanilla I was in New Orleans and it was cooked into a pastry that came with my breakfast, the Tahitian vanilla made the difference. It was the most incrediable tasting... my mouth waters just thinking about it. My family thought I was crazy, so I made them to batches of homemade vanilla ice cream using Nielsen Massey vanilla both times, but for one batch I used Tahitian and the other Madigascar. They too were blown away by the difference in taste. It's more expensive, as the supply is less. Mexican vanilla also has a different taste that you should try...don't limit yourself and stop using the cheap vanilla that has almost no vanilla!

Very strong aroma and flavor; you could probably use half the amount called for in a recipe. There is definitely a difference between Tahitian and other varieties of vanilla extract. Great quality.

You won't understand the delicacy of this vanilla until you try it. In something like custard or creme brulee it adds a distinctness that unmistakable; almost like a floral sweetness. I have a recipe for toasted coconut pancakes that this vanilla takes to a whole new level. I use it sparingly because it is pricier than other vanillas, but it never fails to reward me with something special.

Tastes much better than the vanilla extract I was used to buying for my vanilla ice cream. It has a slightly fruity flavor that I never expected. Some people might not like that. It does seem stronger so perhaps use 1/2 as much or slightly less in your recipe. It is kinda over priced too. Not sure if I will buy this again because of the price and the flavor wasn't liked as well by some of my family.

This is a subtle but dramatic improvement for your recipes versus the generic store vanilla, especially for things like homemade ice cream or custards. Also great in homemade whip cream.

Nielsen Massey Tahitian Vanilla extract has a distinctive, excellent flavor that adds a "fruity" bottom note to a very nice vanilla.

I had tried the bourbon vanilla and decided to try the Tahitian vanilla. Great flavor. A friend got me the Nielsen Massey bourbon flavor to try after a bakery chef recommended it.

I love the floral fragrance of Tahitian Vanilla, and can only get it online. Whole Foods no longer sells it.
