5.0 out of 5 stars This book was extremely educational and inspired me to think
Robert H. DeCoy's writings have always inspired me to "read between the lines" and to search for the truth, or at least consider an alternative view of what the truth is. The Nigger Bible was the first book that I read which challenged my psyche and intellect as it relates to what I was taught and what I believed to be the truth on the topic of spirituality...

2.0 out of 5 stars Don't Believe the Hype, July 9, 2011

Well, I have to admit, the title made me curious and also the author's last name (deCoy). I had to read it to see if this was meant as a joke or what, satire or social comment. And I really still don't exactly know for sure.
What was interesting was the author's explanation of ourselves being God-like beings. "Look within yourself, where you were told not to look. There is the place where God is, either living, or dead."(page 130) But as we read on to page 165 we are told "A true God has no need to engage Witless Mortals, on behalf of his Immortal Divinity." I was lost and not sure of this contridiction but I had to remember this was perhaps written by a mad, drunk african american? Well, I hoped.
Page 131- "Flee the Caucasian Bitch...who offers you the flesh of her body to atone for the race prejudice of her relatives and friends. For she feels herself a Martyr in this Debasement." I'm speechless...
I mean some of this book is pretty heavy, and it seems to be written as a serious piece, but , man, it's out there at times (most of the time).
Pick it up if you want to see something a bit different than you are used to on the View or Today show.

The Nigger Bible was the first book that I read which challenged my psyche and intellect as it relates to what I was taught and what I believed to be the truth on the topic of spirituality. Every person who is sincerely interested in understanding how Black people latch onto religion as a support mechanism should read, study, and understand this book.

1.0 out of 5 stars a fallacy of history, November 10, 2002
This review is from: The Nigger Bible (Paperback)
this book really states a very antagnotistical perspective of black people and is no different from the writings of Hitler or any other books dealing with a strong racial outlook. there is nothing in this book that can be said as informative, only failing, outlandish insights on what certain blacks like the author theorizes was the black person's history and their view of black people's interactions with others is terriblely jaded and misguided. the author rambles on and on about topics he meant to open the reader's mind to the "truth of black people" but he forgets that the truth he is writing about is totally his own bizzare imagination. for those who want a respectable book on black history, this is not for you. also, any african american reading this book is surely to be offended and his/her pride diminished by a black history that serves only to satiate those who enjoy angry and unnecessarily antagonistical slander.

5.0 out of 5 stars the New New Testament, July 18, 2004

This book is a must read for all Black people. The author challenges the reader to think outside of the norm. The read should not try to compare his or her beliefs to that of the author, instead the reader should try to search for the truth in the book.
The author tried to write a testament that was relevant to Black people in the 1960's. He succeeded in writing a book that was visionary for that time and still relevant today.
All the chapters in the book are interesting. The chapter "Proverbs and Notes to My Nigger Son" is a collection of of proverbs that range from being profound to being comical. "Super Spade at the Pearly Gates" is both entertaining and educational.
The Nigger Bible is a true classic of Black literature. This book should be recognized as one the most culturally important books of the 20th Century.

1.0 out of 5 stars Can we say "ISSUES"?, May 1, 2003

The author of this atrocity obviously has issues. That is not to say that blacks have not been put down, beat down, and downtrodden. The plight of blacks in America is an incredible story full of treachery and the lowest of human conditions. It is also the story of triumph and all that humans can be despite their past and their circumstances. This book misses all of that. The author focuses on debunking Christianity, but only uses his own fictional illusions. I feel sorry for the author of this book. It must be a sad life to feel victimized the way he does. There are much better alternatives out there. Avoid this one like the plague.

i grew up with these views before i re-read this when i re-read this sfter so many years, i was opened up and my insight got better to what i really am. this book explains why black people atre the way they are now, the slave days how whites raped our women, why black men are castrated, and still getting (ripped off) out of their manhood, we should stop protesting, and figure out our own solutions, to our problems someone should update this novel, for this explains our plight, and future- all you have to do is open our eyes, and really see things in life from all sides of the table. we built this earth, and society, we are the creators of music, art, comedy, matematics, and everything known to mankind. yes white folks are taking our styles yes we are doomed, integration is killing us, how many real black people are left, check your tv blacks are making fools of themselves on talk showsevery day, we are taking up their ways too much more niggers are going around saying the best man for their daughters is a white man, and vice versa, we have aids here and africa, how come more blacks got aids adn only 3% whites have it make you think don't it. then there is a rising disease coming hpv which will pick up where aids left off, black people we should wake up and solve our own issues.
