Don't Know How I Missed It Earlier . . .,

I was shopping for CDs a few nights ago and this one caught my eye. I have no clue why I didn't buy it when it first came out! This CD is a collection of some of the biggest dance anthems ever.1) Haddaway "What Is Love" - Some people bought the CD for this one song. This is the song that originally made the Roxbury guys famous (Or maybe the other way around). You cannot go wrong! 2) Bamboo "Bamboogie" - This is actually a KC & The Sunshine Band song that was reworked and renamed. It actually sounds pretty good, and fits the album well. 3) Robi Rob's Club World "Make That Money" - The first time you listen to this, you'll say "What the heck?" It grows on you really fast though, and it's actually one of my faves on the CD. 4) Cyndi Lauper "Disco Inferno" - Although you would think this would sound out of place, it doesn't. The mixing on this song sounds great, and it's a perfect re-current song to add. 5) N-Trance "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy" - This is the ultimate low point of the album. This song is horrible. But you can always skip it! :) 6) 3rd Party "Pop Musik" - I don't really have an opinion one way or another on this song. 7) Faithless "Insomnia" - Same as Pop Musik. 8) La Bouche "Be My Lover" - One of the best dance songs ever! This was a great choice for the album, and you'll keep it on repeat for awhile! 9) Amber "This Is Your Night" - This is my favorite song on the album. I love Amber because all of her songs sound so different yet follow the same genre. This song is no exception. You'll find yourself repeating this one too! 10) Ace Of Base "Beautiful Life" - Yet another club classic! This, in my opinion, is Ace Of Base's best song and it's great they included this. This song is a sure way to get your party started. 11) No Mercy "Where Do You Go" - I love this song as well. It gets annoying after awhile, but the first few times you play it you'll love it. 12) Jocelyn Enriquez "A Little Bit Of Ecstacy" - Another major highlight of the CD. The song sounds kind of weird on this CD, but it is still a great song to dance to. 13) Haddaway "What Is Love (Remix)" - Even though this is a remix, I don't feel it should have been included twice. However the remix is still really good. 14) Tamia "Careless Whisper" - Tamia has a lot of talent, but I feel this song shouldn't have been included because it doesn't sound right. It is an awesome song though, and would have done well as a single.

The Soundtrack to A Night at the Roxbury - This is Damn Good,
By The Phantom (Paisley, Scotland) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A Night At The Roxbury: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
This album is a great addition to any collection as far as I'm concerned. I saw the film at a mates house at New Year's Eve and the music really adds to it. Big Time. There are a few songs that are in the film that weren't included on the album but the songs that are on it are designed to get ya up and dancing. It's great music for the car and good music is always good, no matter how old it may be. I think the best songs on the album are: What is Love (7" Mix) - Haddaway, Insomnia (Moster Mix) - Faithless, Where do you Go (Ocean Drive Mix) - No Mercy All three of these feature prominently on the film and are very damn appropriate if ya ask me and the others ain't exactly the worst collection of songs you'll find. My conclusion about the album is that it makes very few concessions about what it is. It's fun, entertaining music, despite it's age. If you want an album you can just have fun listening and dancing to then look no further. My advice to you would be to check out the film first. People who like the film will ,most probably want this as well (a la moi) but those that don't, won't. Count me very much in the first category.

A great Movie Soundtrack,
By
This review is from: A Night At The Roxbury: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and knew I needed to purchase the accompanying motion picture soundtrack that features 14 great songs, 11 being on the movie and 3 remixes and additions. 'A Night At The Roxbury' is a great movie with a comedic twist. But there is no comedy attached to this massive soundtrack. The feature of the movie was "What is Love" which was the 7" Mix by Haddaway. The song is one of the strongest suits on this album. You have the well know favourites in this album like 'Bamboogie', 'Do Ya Think I'm Sexy', 'Be My Lover'. The well known singers La Bouche and Amber which made the techno scene rock in the 90's are featured with quality styled songs.
The last song on this album is the slowest song on the album but a real gorgeous song to listen to; Tamia's 'Careless Whisper'. If you were a fan of the movie, you will by far and away enjoy the soundtrack. So buy the album and add it to your collection. You won't be disappointed. I wasn't.

Never get tired of this soundtrack!,
By Cristian "crisgaron" (Lima, PERU) - See all my reviews

I agree this soundtrack has such great material, you can play it every now and then and soon you want to start dancing! Little can I say about the movie, to me it was just "OK", though the best parts are those with the Butami brothers dancing, joking around and of course the music at The Roxbury in the background! If you like House/Disco Music, this CD is a must...!

After I saw A Night At The Roxbury, I knew I had to get the soundtrack. With many soundtracks, you will get most of the music of the same genre, and then one or two wacky songs that dont fit in at all. This is not the case with the Roxbury soundtrack. This music is right out of the 80's head bobbing dance scene.

I surprised myself by loving this movie, and although I don't normally listen to this type of music (I like singer/songwriters that lean toward alternative and classic country), I bought this CD to listen to while I'm on the cardio machines at the gym. The music is nonstop, and it really keeps me going for the whole hour! I recommend it to ANYONE in search of exercise music. It's the best!

Song from movie not included!,
This review is from: A Night At The Roxbury: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
I loved the movie and make it a point of showing it to all my friends. The Cd is fantastic, although it doesn't have that really cool sounding song that is playing while the Butabi's are gridlocked in traffic on the freeway I think. Does anyone know what the name of the song is or the artist? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Watched the movie, loved it, but wasn't sure if the CD would make the cut. But for some reason, when a friend played his copy I just had to have it. A must for anyone who loves the fun of the early nineties.
