I collect Night Before Christmas books. I found this one a few days ago at a children's store. It is so incredibly beautiful. It has silhouettes, cut-outs, and ends with an insanely beautiful pop-up. I love kids but this is not a book for children -- it is a masterpiece - a work of art -- read it to your kids but then save it for yourself!

This new Night Before Christmas has the look and feel of a Victorian Christmas. The lillustrations are Arthur Racham inspired and make this so much more than a children's Christmas book. Buy you kids one and them one for yourself and one for each of your friends! They will be love it...

I collect The night before Christmas books, and this one is lovely. The black cutouts are dramatic. Wouldn't recommend it for young children; too easy to tear.

The Night Before Christmas is a classic and an absolute must read for holidays. I saw this book in a local bookshop and immediately picked it up. I can't get over how gorgeous this book is. Each illustration and cuts are done with great detail and the negative space that's created by the cut papers are magnificent. I gave it to my family and friends for Christmas and they absolutely loved it. Not recommended for young kids as cut-outs are delicate. But it is something that one might want to keep for collection and continue to cherish over the holidays.

Like another reviewer I thought it would be a neat idea to collect Clement Moore books but I gave up after buying less than twelve. The quality of the Illustrations was too poor to make it worthwhile, especially as there are dozens of versions in print and that doesn't take account of out-of-print editions that can be picked up cheaply.

My criticism, though, doesn't apply to this wonderful edition by illustrator Niroot Puttapipat. His version looks at the classic poem in a totally new way: as silhouette art. A brilliant idea but in a way so obvious yet I bet this the only version like it. The illustrations have a finesse and quality that make you wish the book had twice as many pages. Charming as the first nine spreads are it's not until you open the last two pages and the pop-up opens that you just look in amazement.

The book not only has beautiful illustrations but it is also well designed, too. The typography, paper and printing lift this edition way above the usual TNBC editions though I would like to recommend Richard Sabuda's pop-up version: The Night Before Christmas Pop-up. Equally as beautiful as Puttapipat's but the poem is treated in a flat-color graphic way with amazing pop-ups.

It may be that these two versions of this favorite Christmas poem are best ever published, I certainly think so.

I'm always truly amazed at illustrators ability to illustrate stories. This is a "tried and true" story that comes to life (again) with these silhouettes. Love it!

With pages meant to be turned slowly, this beautiful book gives a whole new elegant feeling to the traditional story. Meant to be handled with care, it is a book that children will feel special sharing with the adults in their life.

I love this book. Perfect adaption to the regulary "The Night Before Christmas". Perfect for kids of all ages. I wanted it for myself.

I am a teacher and love to purchase unique books. I saw this one and knew I had to have it. I not only purchased one for myself, but one for each of my children who are both expecting babies. This will be a keepsake and something they can bring out each year and share the wonderful story and illustations with their families.

Great classic story, with beautiful cut-outs. I am a librarian and every time I read this book to children they were in awe at the last page! Everyone who looks at this book loves it!
