Book Description

May 12, 2011 3 - 5 yearsNight Before
It's the night before preschool, and a little boy named Billy is so nervous he can't fall asleep. The friends he makes the next day at school give him a reason not to sleep the next night, either: he's too excited about going back! The book's simple rhyming text and sweet illustrations will soothe any child's fears about the first day of school.

Editorial Reviews

From the Author

Starting preschool has its own challenges, so I wanted to capture the worries and excitements of being in a new situation. I love Amy Wummer's illustrations! Kids can be assured that preschool is a fun place to be.

It wasn't until 1991 that she decided to write children's books. Luckily she sold her first book within six months and has been writing children's books and articles ever since. Some books have even ended up on bestseller lists!

"I'm curious about many things- people, holidays, underdogs, little known historic figures - and translate my excitement for a topic into books for kids to enjoy. I mostly write picture books, but after 21 years, I'm also writing middle grade novels and easy reads. Cross your fingers they get published! Story ideas are popping into my head all the time, so you never know what my next book will be. But that's what's so fun about writing."

This book is AWESOME! My son loved it, I loved it, and my husband loved it. It really showed what a day at Preschool would be like. We are preparing my son for his first day at Preschool, and this really helped my son get an idea of what fun things he would do.
I will buy more books from this series for sure!

5.0 out of 5 stars A BIG help for a little girl starting preschool February 10, 2012

My daughter started preschool this year, and she was showing signs of being nervous in the weeks before school started. I bought her this book to help calm her nerves, and it did just that! It's a cute story, and it shows kids that it's OKAY to be nervous, but also that everything will work out just fine.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

3.0 out of 5 stars It's OK to be Nervous May 20, 2012
Format:Paperback
Billy's big day is coming up and he feels a little nervous, even with Jerome the bear at his side. When his big day arrives, Billy is timid and shies away from participating in any of the activities. Then at nap time, true tragedy is discovered - he has forgotten Jerome. But a kind friend shares her snuggle animal, and Billy realizes that maybe preschool isn't so bad!

This story is told in rhyme based on the text from The Night Before Christmas. A comforting tale for students just starting school - letting them know it is OK to be nervous

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this author June 4, 2013
By SK

This is my second purchase by this author in this series (I also purchased the Night Before Easter). My little ones love the books. The child who I purchased this for will be going to preschool soon, and I could tell this toddler was a bit apprehensive about preschool. After several readings it is obvious the child is now very excited about going to school. The series of books by this author uses some of the same Night Before Christmas verbage, but gets the message across very easily for little ones.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must buy June 7, 2011
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is the perfect book to prepare a toddler for pre-school. My son had a bad experience in pre-school so we pulled him until he was a little older. He is scared to death to go to pre-school. When I read the book it brings a calmness upon him. And it also brings up diaglog as to how my son feels towards pre-school.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cute Book! November 24, 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
My daughter (3) loves her books and truthfully, I don't mind reading them all the time to her. Some parts are cute, ALTHOUGH, in the 4 books we have of hers, some parts are a little uncreative and it annoys me a little bit. :) But, we'll keep buying them!
