I have owed this album from the day of release, and I must say not a day goes by without a thought for this superb funky jazz creation, anyone with a feel for early 80's jazz-funk should lend an ear to this momentous album

5.0 out of 5 stars Kool Kruising?, February 8, 2004
This review is from: Night Cruiser (Audio CD)
The presence of sax player Ronald Bell of Kool & The Gang should clue you in as to this album's sound. The title song,
"Uncle Funk","Groovitation" and the synth-spiked "Skatin'" all have a very early 80's Kool & The Gang sound to them. But it is
Deodato's sublime orchestration that brings these instrumentals to life. This is an excellent beginning to his post CTI work.
