Book Description

March 1, 1997
A comic horror novel. It's Hitler the vampire, with Eva Peron in his clutches, against Hi Hickenlooper, Eva's pre-Juan beau who still loves her to death.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"Funny. . . . Don't cry for Evita Peron, Argentina. She's found a happy ending here." -- Cathy Krusberg, The Vampire's Crypt, Fall 1997

From the Publisher

"Nazi vampires are the worst." So says jungle explorer Hi Hickenlooper, whose perilous task is to help track down and destroy them, in this comic horror novel set in 1952. Hi has a personal stake, so to speak, in trying to do in the vampires, based somewhere in the Amazon rain forest. For his old flame Eva Peron, who the world thinks has died, is actually a vampire, having left her husband Juan to take up--now much to her regret--with the Nazis' vampire leader, none other than Adolf Hitler.

Hi and Evita were lovers in her pre-Juan days, and Hi has never gotten over her. Now she's a virtual captive of Hitler, and Hi is determined to save her--there's a vampire cure in the works--while destroying Hitler and his bloodsucking cronies. It all adds up to a fast and funny adventure that grabs you from the opening scene in a wartime Transylvanian castle.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not enough of a good thing, August 12, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Night of the Dragon's Blood (Hardcover)
The premise is cute and, oddly enough, believable within the text of the book. However, the book is much too short. The reader is left with the feeling that the author wrote a great beginning and a dynamite ending but didn't know what to put in between. Still worth reading if the high hardback price doesn't daunt you.
