Book Description

Intl. Multiple Award Winning, Bestselling Novel

“I love you,” he murmured as the wisps of light returned to his body.

What he didn’t say was that his love came with a heavy price and life was never going to be the same again.

Twenty-six-year-old Ana Martin has a past she is trying to forget. When she meets Gabriel, she believes that she can finally leave her troubles behind her. But Gabriel has a secret…

He may look human and be born of this world, but he is Siis - a race who evolved millions of years ago to a transcendent state, who now take solid form to hide among us.

When the homeless start dying at an abandoned Tannery, the police chalk it up to suicides. Ana knows different. The Siis have a secret, a past mistake they would rather forget, one that puts Ana in more danger than she can ever comprehend.

Before long, she becomes a target for the Fae, once innocent children changed by the Siis thousands of years before. They are able to intensify and feed off the negative emotions of their prey, and are filled with malicious intent that has no bounds.

Can Ana survive the world of the Siis? More importantly, can she do it with her mind still intact?

Night of the Fae is the first book in the Ana Martin series, which follows Ana as she is drawn into the secret world of the Siis, an ancient race of empathic beings torn apart by war, treachery and the consequences of past actions. Hidden Light (Volume 2) and Frozen Flame (Volume 3) are available to buy now. The Last Prophecy (Volume 4) is due for release at the end of 2015.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"Written with an energy and imagination that can leave you breathless, the Ana Martin series is a work of supreme fantasy and vision.

Boasting a likable, strongly realized heroine and a world that is at once fantastic and thrilling yet wholly believable, the Ana Martin series is one of those rare reading experiences that just draws you in and won't let you go until the final page is turned." - Bestselling Author, Shane Dunphy.

Review Rating: 4 Stars
"I have read my share of Fae books before and I have to say that Lyneal Jenkins has created a whole different take on the world of the Fae. This book is full of different twists and turns and a great deal of angst to keep a reader interested. The characters are deep and have many layers so that you feel them coming off the page; they could be real. The flow of this book is good and makes for an easy read. I would recommend this book because it is a solid, entertaining story." -

Well-paced and engaging, Night of the Fae by Lyneal Jenkins is the perfect supernatural/fantasy read. Ana, Gabriel and the other characters are carefully developed and realistic in spite of the supernatural nature of some of them. Following their love, hate and trials keeps the pages turning. It is quite easy to get caught up in the swirling emotions that allow you to feel what Ana is feeling. It is certainly well worth the time and is sure to please.

I enjoyed the fast paced read. For the first volume of the series Lyneal Jenkins has done a remarkable job of piecing together a romantic fantasy adventure. The elements are there: the passion, the revelation, the twists and turns carefully positioned for the reader to easily grasp. Overall, this is a great read.

About the Author

Lyneal Jenkins was born in Shrewsbury, England in 1980. In 1996 she left home to become a Medic in the British Army.

After three years she resigned the forces to start a family and begin her work with learning disabilities, which is when she was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder.

After a failed marriage, she moved to Spain for eighteen months with her children, taking time to reflect on where she wanted her life to go.

Since returning to the UK, she began her studies towards becoming a Psychologist.

In February 2011 she sat down at the laptop with one sentence and a basic concept in mind, with no idea that she was embarking on the biggest project of her life.

Night of the Fae quickly became a novel and it wasn't long before detailed notes for the remaining Ana Martin books were drafted up.

To date, Lyneal is currently living with her partner in North Yorkshire along with their seven children. Each day is a balance between normal life and writing. She couldn't be happier. She is looking forward to writing many more books in the fantasy/scifi genre as this is where her passion lies.

This has to be one of the weirdest but, oddly, most satisfying stories I have read in an awful long time. At once ridiculously funny, scary and intensely interesting, it's unlike anything I have ever read. The characters really came to life for me and, while it's a bit of a used cliché, really jumped off the page.

If you're looking for action Night of the Fae has it in spades as well as a good bit of mystery, thrills and a very well fleshed out heroine. It's got quite an edge to it as well and did an excellent job keeping me hooked from the start.

This is definitely a genre breaker to be sure. Equal parts mystery, suspense and even a bit of romance thrown in for good measure, Night of the Fae will satisfy many different types of readers and. I'm going to be reading it again soon and I have already recommended it to several of my friends. Great stuff!

If you're looking for a thoroughly entertaining summer read this is the book you need. I can't wait for the next chapter in the series!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic July 4, 2013

Absolutely incredible book, the story and plot is like nothing I have ever came across before. The characters all have such a solid and in depth personality and their interactions with the story are very unique and original compared to most books. The writing in this story is also very unique, the author has a style that is very visually rich - showing you a picture instead of just telling you about what she is trying to express. The book is very entertaining and kept me captivated the whole way through but it also has some underlying meaningful themes that are incorporated into the story very well. There's a lot of twists and unexpected events that keep the book at an exciting pace, I think many different kinds of people could find this read enjoyable just because of that factor alone, but combined with all the other exceptional elements, I think that this book is going to impress a lot of readers from many different backgrounds.

4.0 out of 5 stars BRAVO!! July 20, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
Brought to you by OBS reviewer Andra

Spoilers….sorry :(

Let me first say…..bravo! I really had a great reading experience with this book. While I was a bit confused during the first 20 -30 pages, once I re-read those pages a couple of times from the beginning, I was hooked (and that is hard to do outside of my normal reading genre – like this book is….may have to add new genre to my reading :) ). The story had a bit of everything actually….romance, action, intrigue and the supernatural.

Ana is a unique protagonist, a bipolar woman with few friends (most notable, her best friend Lexi) and an empathetic soul beyond the norm. I loved her sense of humour and wit. I was definitely drawn in to the love story but as usual with love stories….I always become invested in them with a bit of apprehension for what could (and usually does) go wrong. With any great love story…there are peaks and valleys so I will need to wait and see where Ana and Gabriel’s story lead the reader. In this book, there were great high’s and very low low’s. time will tell if there love can stand the test of time. There interaction was very real, even if Gabriel is not from this world. Of course, I was irritated (and so was Ana too) that Gabriel had not mentioned his daughter until she was just there! I will end here with the interactions with Suraya…best left for your reading pleasure. Suffice it to say, I love it when a bad character makes it easy to hate them and feel sorry for them at the same time.

I must say….I loved Lexi and Maria. Both showed great qualities for a best friend to Ana. I can certainly see where Maria, a witch as a matter of fact, can be incorporated more as the series continues…..providing moral support as well as maybe teaching Ana a few things?

Excellent story-some editing issues but not too difficult to get through the editing to grasp a well thought out story. Went right to Amazaon to order Volume 2 so I could continue to read. Love the characters and their well developed personalities.

Ana Martin is a 26-year-old who is desperately trying to put her past behind her. She finds herself drawn, physically and emotionally, to Gabriel, but as the relationship develops, she learns that Gabriel has a secret—one that will forever impact her life and the lives of those around her.
Ana learns that Gabriel is a Siis, a creature that can appear human, but that is far, far more than a mere mortal. Furthermore, she learns that she can tap into some of the Siis powers. This makes her a target of the Fae, fairy creatures that were once children, but that are now malevolent beings feeding off the pain and anguish of others, and who are quite deadly. In addition to having to battle the Fae, Ana also finds herself caught up in an ancient battle among the Siis.
Jenkins has done a masterful job of creating alien beings and describing their physical and emotional interactions with the human world. In so doing, she enables the reader to intuit their plane, or planes, of existence. Her depiction of human and non-human emotions is chilling and effective. The reader quickly becomes immersed and enmeshed in Ana’s struggle between her love for Gabriel and her loyalty to her friends.
This book defies genre pigeon holing. It is fantasy, it’s thriller, it’s romance—hell, it’s just about anything you want in a book—a well written story that you will enjoy reading.
