Book Description

INTL. Multiple Award Winning Début Novel

“I love you,” he murmured as the wisps of light returned to his body.

What he didn’t say was that his love came with a heavy price and life was never going to be the same again.

Twenty six year old Ana Martin has a past she is trying to forget. When she meets Gabriel, she believes that she can finally leave her troubles behind her. But Gabriel has a secret…

He may look human and be born of this world, but he is from an ancient race of empathic beings known as the Siis, a race that evolved millennia ago to a state of consciousness yet still take solid form to hide among us.

When the homeless start dying at an abandoned Tannery, the police chalk it up to suicides. Ana knows different. The Siis have a secret, a past mistake they would rather forget, one that puts Ana in more danger than she can ever comprehend.

Before long, she becomes a target for the Fae, once innocent children changed by the Siis thousands of years before. They are able to intensify and feed off the negative emotions of their prey, and are filled with malicious intent that has no bounds.

Can Ana survive the world of the Siis? More importantly, can she do it with her mind still intact?

Night of the Fae is the first book in the Ana Martin series, which follows Ana as she is drawn into the secret world of the Siis, an ancient race of empathic beings torn apart by war, treachery and the consequences of past actions. The second book in the series, THE HIDDEN LIGHT, is available on Kindle now.

Review by Shane Dunphy - Author of Bestseller WEDNESDAYS CHILD.
"Written with an energy and imagination that can leave you breathless, the Ana Martin series is a work of supreme fantasy and vision.
Boasting a likable, strongly realized heroine and a world that is at once fantastic and thrilling yet wholly believable, the Ana Martin series is one of those rare reading experiences that just draws you in and won't let you go until the final page is turned. Jenkins's Siis are deftly drawn: fighting, loving and laughing with emotion that leaps from the text, while her Fae are truly chilling: nightmare creations that bring a genuine shiver to the spine. Jenkins crosses genres with a sure touch, compressing mystery, the supernatural, romance and procedural crime into a genuinely compelling narrative. Ana Martin is a name that will certainly go down in the annals of not just fantasy literature, but of classic characters in general, and Lyneal Jenkins is, without doubt, a figure to watch in the world of publishing. Read Ana Martin now and find a universe you will want to return to again and again."

Review: "Not often do I read a book that makes me feel like I actually became a part of it. When I can feel what the characters are feeling...well that is a book written by someone that can write. This is a book built in the present time, and shows how other "beings" live among us and the dangers that one woman faces as she becomes more involved in their world. The characters are well developed and the story grabs you immediately. It is creepy, emotional, and edgy. The best part? It is something new. I didn't feel like I've read this story before, like I do with many others in this genre. I would definitely recommend this book." Amber . B (Freelance Editor)

About the Author

Lyneal Jenkins was born in Shrewsbury, England in 1980. In 1996 she left home to become a Medic in the British Army.

After three years she resigned the forces to start a family and begin her work with learning disabilities, which is when she was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder.

After a failed marriage, she moved to Spain for eighteen months with her children, taking time to reflect on where she wanted her life to go.

Since returning to the UK, she began her studies towards becoming a Psychologist.

In February 2011 she sat down at the laptop with one sentence and a basic concept in mind, with no idea that she was embarking on the biggest project of her life.

Night of the Fae quickly became a novel and it wasn't long before detailed notes for the remaining Ana Martin books were drafted up.

To date, Lyneal is currently living with her partner in North Yorkshire along with their seven children. Each day is a balance between normal life and writing. She couldn't be happier. She is looking forward to writing many more books in the fantasy/scifi genre as this is where her passion lies.

This has to be one of the weirdest but, oddly, most satisfying stories I have read in an awful long time. At once ridiculously funny, scary and intensely interesting, it's unlike anything I have ever read. The characters really came to life for me and, while it's a bit of a used cliché, really jumped off the page.

If you're looking for action Night of the Fae has it in spades as well as a good bit of mystery, thrills and a very well fleshed out heroine. It's got quite an edge to it as well and did an excellent job keeping me hooked from the start.

This is definitely a genre breaker to be sure. Equal parts mystery, suspense and even a bit of romance thrown in for good measure, Night of the Fae will satisfy many different types of readers and. I'm going to be reading it again soon and I have already recommended it to several of my friends. Great stuff!

If you're looking for a thoroughly entertaining summer read this is the book you need. I can't wait for the next chapter in the series!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic July 4, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Absolutely incredible book, the story and plot is like nothing I have ever came across before. The characters all have such a solid and in depth personality and their interactions with the story are very unique and original compared to most books. The writing in this story is also very unique, the author has a style that is very visually rich - showing you a picture instead of just telling you about what she is trying to express. The book is very entertaining and kept me captivated the whole way through but it also has some underlying meaningful themes that are incorporated into the story very well. There's a lot of twists and unexpected events that keep the book at an exciting pace, I think many different kinds of people could find this read enjoyable just because of that factor alone, but combined with all the other exceptional elements, I think that this book is going to impress a lot of readers from many different backgrounds.

Excellent story-some editing issues but not too difficult to get through the editing to grasp a well thought out story. Went right to Amazaon to order Volume 2 so I could continue to read. Love the characters and their well developed personalities.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book! September 10, 2014
By Rebecca
Format:Kindle Edition
Lyneal Jenkins has written an action-packed tale weaving a few genres together: thriller, mystery, adventure, and romance – they're all rolled into one exciting and imaginative tale. Ana Martin is an average woman that discovers the man she's dating is not … human. The emotions you'll feel while reading run the gamut. There are sweet romantic moments. Occasionally it's even a little humorous. Ana's reaction when she finds out the truth about Gabriel - ‘Is that your plan, to impregnate me? Put some sort of little bug eggs inside of me until they hatch and eat me from the inside.’ He stopped and rolled his eyes. ‘You watch far too many horror movies.' There are also intense and frightening parts in the book. One example being the incident that took place between Ana, Lexi, and the Fae – in this encounter Eris is introduced into the plot. Night of the Fae is the first in The Ana Martin Series, and a captivating beginning that will have you hooked.

A great story with the perfect less than perfect main character. It shows a supernatural spin on bipolar disorder very well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very interesting book September 10, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
This book was truly an interesting read for me. I am not usually one to go for this genre but when I heard a friend of mine had read it I decided to give it a try and I was pleasantly surprised by the authors style of writing. Night of the Fae was both intense and funny at the same time which really made this an excellent reading experience. The characters were well crafted, in my opinion, and I felt that many of us readers can relate to Ana.

What I really love about this book is that it gives very vivid descriptions which really bring the book into focus and I found myself lost in the pages of this book. I felt that the author had to do this since it is such a strange and interesting plot. I read it off quite quickly and I am excited about the next few books in the series.
