5.0 out of 5 stars Sizziling! Very highly recommended, November 16, 2003
This review is from: Night Fever: Kiss & Tell (Harlequin Blaze, 105) (Mass Market Paperback)
Dr Layla Hollister enjoys the latest Hollywood gossip rag while she waits for friends to join her at a restaurant. Unexpectedly, a hunky stranger approaches her. Sam Lovejoy believes that she must be a model with her good looks and natural assets in a town where everyone seems to have had plastic surgery. Indeed, before becoming the new administrator of Trident Medical Center, he had performed plastic surgery on a large section of the rich and famous.

Layla's initial negative comments about the new administrator lead him to conceal his identity and enjoy their evening before she discovers who Sam is. When Layla does learn his identity, she is frustrated to realize she had been attracted to a man with a reputation as a lady's man. Worse, she fears that her determination to retain her natural assets rather than improve them with cosmetic surgery would endanger a relationship with a man whose career centers around appearances.

Writing team Tori Carrington once again pens a marvelous romance in NIGHT FEVER, the first of the Kiss and Tell miniseries. A sensual feast with surprising depth of characterization, NIGHT FEVER really turns up the heat. Layla's past presents her with insecurities that are hard to overcome even as Sam learns lessons of judging others and love. A feisty read that uniquely balances the male and female perspective as only this writing duo can do, NIGHT FEVER comes very highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Blazing Romance With Hidden Values, October 28, 2003

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Night Fever: Kiss & Tell (Harlequin Blaze, 105) (Mass Market Paperback)
Layla Hollister is sitting in the bar of a restaurant as she waits to have dinner
with her three best friends. She drops what she's reading and her interest peaks when a drop-dead gorgeous man asks if the empty stool beside her is taken. Sexual sparks begin
to fly as they are instantly attracted to each other. He thinks the elegant woman
with the sultry voice and long legs just has to be a model. They strike up a
conversation and Sam hits a `hot button' when he asks this natural beauty

`who did her nose'. It isn't an unusual question in this town of L.A., but an insecure Layla doesn't appreciate the comment-like question. She's in a bad mood anyway;
she's a general practitioner at the Medical Center and has a new boss she's
she dislikes, even though she's never met him. His reputation as a womanizer precedes
him. Well.....guess who this handsome hunk is? Uh-huh! The famous - or
infamous, depending on what you know about him - Sam Lovejoy, one of
the best cosmetic, reconstructive surgeons anywhere, and the new senior staff
administrator of the Medical Center.

Sam is definitely interested in this sexy number sitting beside him, and lady killer that he is, he isn't going to pass up the opportunity to get to know her tonight, even if
she hates him tomorrow, so he skates around his name, rank, and serial
number. He does get the opportunity to satisfy his curiosity to see if she
tastes as good as she looks, and drools when she does. Ah, but just at that moment, her cell phone rings and she's off to answer an emergency call. Sam has a feeling he may have seen the last of her beautiful smile since Layla Hollister just happens to be the first appointment on his agenda to meet the staff tomorrow morning.

The Carrington duo heat the pages with the electricity and passion flowing between
Layla and Sam. But more than that, they delve into Layla's past to show where and
why she has so many insecurities to cause her reactions as an adult, and they allow Sam
to point this out to Layla. Layla gets her turn to teach Sam a few lessons about love and
judgments, too. It's a gift or a talent, but by whatever name you choose, don't miss
the values, morals and relationships the Carringtons have written into this sensual offering as they deepen the story and fulfill fantasies. NIGHT FEVER is the first
in a mini series featuring four close friends. After reading this one, be sure to watch for Harlequin Blaze #109, FLAVOR OF THE MONTH, Reilly's story to be released
in November.

5.0 out of 5 stars NIGHT FEVER is a torid tale of romance, October 13, 2003
This review is from: Night Fever: Kiss & Tell (Harlequin Blaze, 105) (Mass Market Paperback)
Dr. Layla Hollister of the Trident Medical Center takes her work seriously, so much so that she is perhaps the only female in Los Angeles County not interested in acting. It is not shocking that she is upset to learn that the new senior staff administrator is Dr. Sam Lovejoy, a man noted for his string of women on his arms as much as his cosmetic surgical enhancement of female lungs.

Layla was to meet friends for a girl's night out, but they canceled at the last moment. Instead she talks with an enchanting stranger who suddenly tastes her lips in a way that shakes the prim Layla to the core. She cannot believe the pleasure she has felt over one stolen kiss that leaves her craving for more. However, the next morning, Layla is rudely awakened from her fantasy when she realizes her new superior is the stud that shook her to the core with one lip lock. Layla refuses to mix pleasure and business even though every cell in her body desires him while Sam expects more melting bones kisses from his delightful employee.

As expected from the Carrington crew, NIGHT FEVER is a "tori"d tale of romance between two doctors whom never felt love before. The story line engages the audience from the moment of the kiss and turns hotter and faster in rapid order. Fans will gain plenty of pleasure from this delightful tale and look forward to the future Kiss and Tell stories from this wonderful writing duo.
