Book Description

A Night to Forget is the first book in the two-book series, Emma's Story. The second book in the series, The Day to Remember, is currently available.

What happens in Cancun doesn’t always stay in Cancun.

When Emma Anderson and her friends decided to spend their senior year Spring Break in Cancun, she expected some crazy memories to end their final college days. What Emma didn’t expect was to meet Brandon Fisher. Tall and sexy, with dimples that would make any girl swoon, Brandon Fisher was literally the man of Emma’s dreams. She couldn't quite believe that this stranger, who seduced her every night in her dreams, actually existed.

After serendipitously bumping into each other, Emma could not resist Brandon’s pull and spent an unforgettable night with him. Passing it off as a spring break fling, Emma never expected to see Brandon again. But when she started her first day at her new job a few months later, there he was. The only problem was, Brandon didn’t even remember her.

Contemporary Romance **Mature Content** Recommended for 17+ due to mature language and adult situations.

From the Author

Jessica Wood writes new adult contemporary romance.
While Jessica has lived in countless cities throughout the U.S., her heart belongs to San Francisco. To her, there's something seductively romantic about the Golden Gate Bridge, the steep rolling hills of the city streets, the cable cars, and the Victorian-style architecture.
She loves a strong, masculine man with a witty personality. While she is headstrong and extremely independent, she can't resist a man who takes control of the relationship, both outside and inside of the bedroom.
She loves to travel internationally, and tries to plan a yearly trip abroad. She also loves to cook and bake, and--to the benefit of her friends--she loves to share. She also enjoys ceramics and being creative with her hands. She has a weakness for good (maybe bad) TV shows; she's up-to-date on over 25 current shows, and no, that wasn't a joke. And it goes without saying, she loves books--they're like old and dear friends who have always been there to make her laugh and make her cry. The one thing she wishes she had more of, is time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exciting, sexy and funny June 20, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
A Night to Forget is a fun, sexy and exciting read. It tells the story of Emma, a recent college grad and her quest for the man of her dreams, who happens to be very real. We follow Emma from Los Angeles to Cancun and then to San Francisco along her exciting and sensual journey and it is very exciting. This book was a really good read, and Brandon was hot, hot, hot. This book was great. If you enjoyed Tangled by Emma Chase or Wallbanger by Alice Clayton, you will love this book!

This is a hard one for me. I try to find something in the story I can relate to, because in the end - if I can find some piece that I can link to something then I can really end up feeling something. Whether that be for the characters, the story or even if I can find some type of personal relief. This sort of fell a little flat for me in the connection.

Emma has been having vivid dreams about a man she hasn't met. She is days away from heading to Cancun with her best friends for their last Spring Break in college. Her d-bag boyfriend who has been patient with her and her need to remain a virgin has lost his patience. Suddenly single, and in Mexico Emma meets Brandon. The man she has been dreaming about.

After one night together, Emma finds herself months down the road - no word from her dream man until the first day of work. Brandon is going to be her team leader - but there is no spark of recognition in his eyes when they meet. From this point, there is a push/pull of Emma debating if she should just forget the fact that he doesn't remember her and still go for it, or if she should ignore him. But the pull they both felt before is not gone - and this starts off a fast pace - instant love relationship that ends with a cliffhanger.

I will probably read book two for a few reasons.

1. I have to know how this turns out (cliffhangers do me in - Every. Time.).
2. There was potential there for this story and this author. This was a debut for Jessica Wood and I have seen far too many authors who start off with a story that is a tad bit shaky turn their next attempts into something better. I can't avoid seeing if that is true in this case.

There were some minor phrasing issues that caught my attention and actually made me giggle.

I actually had this book for a while but never got a chance to read it. I had so many books still pending. I would keep finding a new book that looks interesting...but I did eventually read " A Night To Forget" . I had to reread it to refresh my

I enjoyed reading it. I read it all, kept me awake through the 5 hrs car ride from Boston to Syracuse. At least my husband cant complain about cause I kinda kept him company even though I was silent. hahaha

Ok now....
what if you come face to face w the man of your dreams, literally. what would you do?

Lets just say at first I was all for team Brandon....but towards the cliffhanger in the end, I started to change my mind. Brandon seemed like a guy w no drama but that's just fantasy. No good looking, smart, wealthy, and sweet guy has issues, its a myth I tell ya... ***sarcasm*** Secret life perhaps.

Am kinda shocked because Brandon works at his fathers company and when he and Emma made it official even within the company no one not even higher up knew about his "other life"?

Emma, I like her...I love her friends too. They are too funny and they keep her on her toes. Am thinking mb they might get their own story even if its just a chapter within the other books. :)

I cant wait for book 2, I can get very antsy when a find a series am into. but I guess ill drown my impatientness w my other pending books til it comes out. lol

Great Job Jessica!!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars ANOTHER CLIFFHANGER December 4, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I just detest cliffhanger and resent that it isn't posted as such. Another short story being stretched into a series.....Thank God this was a free book This seems to be a common practice of many authors today unfortunately.

If I had known this did not have an ending I would never have started it. There needed to be more substance in the story.

2.0 out of 5 stars This should be called A Book to Forget. October 2, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a completely forgettable book. Unoriginal story, shallow characters, insta-love.

Spoilers from here on.

This is the story of Emma and Brandon who meet while she's on vacation in Cancun for spring break her senior year of college and he's there working with a client. She misses a boat cruise and ends up spending a night with him because they have that insta-love connection... and she's quite sure she gave up her virginity that night too. It's her last night of vacation; she wakes up in bed next to him but needs to catch her flight. She can't wake him up, so leaves a note with her phone number, then never hears from him again... until she starts her new job in San Francisco and he becomes her boss. Dude says nothing to her at all -- what a douche. What does she see in him? I don't get it. I have no idea what they really see in each other.

I feel like I learned more about Emma's friends than Emma or Brandon. Gloria's got something to hide, and me thinks she's not really in Paris like she says she is. Hmm.

And the cliffhanger was uninspired. A girlfriend? I was kinda hoping for a brain tumor which should be the only excuse for not acknowledging a woman you met in Cancun and spent the night with and who you make all sorts of promises to while taking her virginity.

There was also a rape theme in this book. Emma was assaulted in college and then again by an ex boyfriend (also a douche) while on a business trip with B. B rescues her and that cements their relationship? It was odd and I'm not sure this was an appropriate plot device for this kind of story.
