HOT SPICEY AND SWEET THIS CAJUN GUMBO REALLY BOILS,
By
This review is from: Night Game (GhostWalkers, Book 3) (Mass Market Paperback)
Hot, Spicy and sweet sums up this latest offering by Christine Feehan. Clearly her skill as an author is growing by leaps and bounds and we readers are the grateful recipients of her efforts. Cajun honey and hottie Gator has returned to the city of his birth New Orleans to find a missing girl and attempt to bring home the most dangerous of Dr. Whitney's enhanced daughters Flame. In a category all her own Flame steals your heart and makes you wonder if she can be saved in the same breath. Gator strong on devotion and sex appeal is the perfect man to capture the elusive Flame. The two evenly matched in power and wit make you sit on the edge of your seat, laugh like a loon, and cry like a baby. To say I loved this book does not say enough, RUN RUN TO THE BOOK STORE NOW

Night Game brings you laughter and tears,

Ms. Feehan's GhostWalker series brings to the forefront the very real possibilities of our government and their doctors engaged in genetic enhancement and melds it with the love stories that she is so adept at. The action is non-stop in NIGHT GAMES and the dialoque is equally fast paced. She has also woven in a heartbreaking thread regarding what those who suffer with cancer go through rounding out this book on many different levels. As someone who has many cancer-survivor friends, there are moments that just tear your heart out. You will cheer Flame's independent streak, suffer with Gator as he makes the difficult decisions to save lives and grin ear to ear as Ms. Feehan's sense of humor shines through Gator's
Grand-mere's antics NIGHT GAMES is one of Ms. Feehan's best works, which is saying a lot from this New York Best-selling author.

Go, Gator!,

This review is from: Night Game (GhostWalkers, Book 3) (Mass Market Paperback)
Finally! We finally get to Gator's story - my personal favorite in the DreamWalkers series (#3). Charming, sexy, and easy-going, as is usual for a N'awlins Cajun, Gator returns to his hometown to help his family friends search for a missing girl - but he is also on a mission from Lily: find Flame. Sparks fly when Gator & Flame meet - putting it mildly. Neither is the type to easily trust, yet their surroundings and circumstances force them to work together. Both know that the end will be near - for both of them - if they don't find they answers they need quickly. I have been enjoying this romantic suspense/paranormal series - I like the humor along with the psychic possibilities.

I love Feehan's work and think the Game series of books are her best works, and I am a Carpathian nut, so this is saying a lot.
Reading a book by Feehan is like putting on my favorite fuzzy robe, I just know I am going to feel better curling up in it and I know it is going to be good. I also find myself enjoying reading other authors Feehan recommends. I trust Feehan, and her opinions and stories have clout with me. She is consistently good in my book. And Night Game hits a home run in the Game Series. I felt like I was in the bayou. The characters were strong and the story moved with a lot of action, and it was very multifaceted. My heart was wrapped up with Gator and Flame and ached with them (my jaw dropped with the coco scene and my heart ached, I couldn't believe it). The sex scenes were a la Feehan HOT, man can she write 'em. And what I love about the Game books most is that both leads are strong, smart characters, that complement each other. Even though they may have emotional issues, they are very intelligent and possess extraordinary gifts. This is a MUST read. As is the series. It has it all.

Feehan produces the best reading pleasure,

Christine just gets better with every book she writes. Gator is a very strong character like a modern knight out to slay the dragon and save his fair lady. Flame is a much damaged child and a brave woman. The book is wonderful a great read. The print format is definitly flawed some of the pages fell out because of the larger size and shape of the book. This in no way prevented me from reading a much awaited book. I just hope the publisher works out what is obviously their mistake before her next book is published.

Innovative storyline with an exciting love story!,

I loved this book. I loved it for a lot of reasons. But, one of my main reasons for loving this book is for the heroine, Flame.
Although this book will certainly appeal to romance readers because the chemistry between Flame and Gator is so H-O-T!... although this book will appeal to action/adventure readers as well as sci fi lovers due to the paranormal elements...what I think this book really has going for it is the strength of the heroine. We all have tradegy hit us and are expected to go about our daily routine, go to work, smile at the custormer, whatever...but it is at those times that we really see our true selves. In this book, Flame is seriously ill. You know soon into it that she realizes she will die. Her life is lonely. There's pain. But, at no point does she feel sorry for herself. She wants to make her last days count for something. She spends her time helping others. Fighting the good fight so to speak. Then along comes Gator. Handsome, funny, sexy and everything any woman would want. He thinks he can save her. She doesn't want to be saved. When they team up to stop some really bad guys they find they have a lot in common. They both have supernatural powers. They both have a lonely life. And they both have a will of iron. This romance is electric! If you want something so exciting that it will keep you up till 3AM reading...this is the book for you!

My faith is renewed in this series!,

I didn't like the second book in this series. For some reason I couldn't connect with Nicholas and Dahlia. I was not looking forward to this one, mainly because the author had me thinking that Gator was a second string kind of player in the GhostWalker series. She seriously never hinted at him being as powerful as he is. If she hadn't made me like him so much then I would have been really angry. I liked this book. I actually liked it, I think, better than the first two. I like that we actually get surprised in this book. There are things that happen in this book that threw me off balance. Coming at this point in the series, that was refreshing. Ms. Feehan's willingness to keep us off balance with the thought that Peter Whitney isn't dead and that there might be someone giving him information is pure genius.
The chemistry between Gator and Flame is hot hot hot. She is just the right combination of vulnerability and strength that she kind of makes you love her right away. She fights the attraction a little too long in my opinion, but maybe this added something to the final product. Maybe it made it a little more meaningful when the sex finally happened. You know at that point that the characters are committed to each other. I very seriously recommend that you read this book. It really is good stuff. The format of these new "easy reading" books, bugs the crap out of me. They are no easier to read than any other. They aren't doing you, the reader; any favors so don't be fooled. I have to think that this is a shameless ploy to extract just a little more of your hard earned money. They KNOW that this is a popular author and they KNOW that you will buy what she writes. Think what you will. I am just glad that I work for a bookstore and don't have to purchase amazing books in order to read them.

terrific paranormal Ghostwalker Game thriller,
This review is from: Night Game (GhostWalkers, Book 3) (Mass Market Paperback)
Both genetically enhanced, Iris "Flame" Johnson and Gator Fontemont met when he rescued her. They are attracted to one another, but Gator has always been a lone ranger so he struggles with his need to be with her and Flame trusts no one. However, he learns she remains in danger from Dr. Peter Whitney, whom Gator thought dead (see SHADOW GAME); he willingly risks his life to keep her safe.
Realizing he is enhanced like her, Flame fears Gator plans to return her to the evil Whitney. She detests the fact that she cannot get him out of her mind as she feels an irresistible attraction to him that she assumes is just one more inbreeding mechanism devised by Whitney. She distrusts her growing love for Gator as much as she expects him to betray her. Together they might defeat their common enemy, but separately they will probably die or worse be re-imprisoned by Whitney that is if he is the cat chasing them. The latest Ghostwalker Game thriller is a terrific paranormal entry because of the personalities of two loners, both ready to explode (especially the heroine) and neither easily trusting others particularly those who Whitney experimented on. The story line is action-packed never slowing down, but also has the haunting of Katrina as pre-hurricane New Orleans serves as the backdrop. Christine Feehan is on her A-game with her latest paranormal thriller. Harriet Klausner

Strong addition to the Ghostwalker series,

I have been a fan of Christine Feehan's work since Dark Prince, with the notable exception of Ocean of Fire. I am pleased to say that this book is a strong addition to the GhostWalker series. I found some of the dialogue and interaction in the first chapter to be forced, but beginning with Chapter Two the book really hit its stride. Iris ("Flame") is a strong female character who is not waiting around for anyone to save her. She has led a life filled with betrayal and pain and is cautious who she opens herself to. Too often it seems that characters' misgivings and problems are cast aside and the reader is meant to believe they share an immediate love. Feehan avoided that trap and worked hard to build the relationship between Iris and her male counterpart Raoul ("Gator"). It made the story much more enjoyable and realistic (as realistic as a paranormal story about two enhanced people can be). While there were sex scenes in the book, they never overwhelmed the plot. Secondary characters added to the storyline and you cared about them, but they did not detract too much attention from the main characters.
I did not rate this story a five because of problems with first chapter and the repetition regarding Iris' lack of trust. I think all readers understood that she did not like Peter Whitney or anything/anyone he was involved with and after a time it became unnecessary to have Iris say it once again.

This is by far the best of the GhostWalker series. Christine Feehan is a wonderful storyteller and she continues to grow in her writing ability. The characters are appealing, the story unfolds nicely with a good balance of action and romance, and it contains all of the elements that make for an engrossing read. We'd all like to play some Night Games with someone like Gator Fontenot. Two thumbs up on this one!
