Reporter Smokey Powers has come to a small Oregon town to investigate a developer's disappearance. But from the moment she wanders into a local art gallery, she's captivated by a stunning photograph of a hawk in flight...and by her urgent need to meet the photographer, to touch him...to know him. When Smokey comes face-to-face with Mato Hawk, a member of a local tribe, his masculinity overwhelms her. For once, this ambitious career woman is learning what it means to submit in every way. Again and again Mato takes her to the brink of release, becoming more dominant and demanding, awakening every inch of her body to pure sensation until she's never felt more alive - or less in control. Seduction was a way for Mato to stop Smokey from jeopardizing his people's land with her investigation. Now their desire has become an unstoppable force that's wild, risky, and deliciously unpredictable...
I know, I know. I'm suppose to have a picture of me and not a pet. But as an erotica writer, I keep a low profile. Its one thing to blast the Vonna Harper name all over the Net, another to shock the neighbors.
Psst. I've more than hinted at what matters to me in the pictures I included. Obviously, those are some of the people who matter to me. My cross-country skiing son took the snow scene near our cabin, also the curious bear. As for Crater Lake, its the #1 attraction in our part of the state and the deepest lake in the U.S.
Hmm. What to say about this writer I created out of my sometimes fertile imagination? Not the truth since that's boring. How about a list of my accomplishments, some of which are actually the truth. I grew up in towns so small we had to share the single horse with the next berg and I graduated elementary school in a class of three. No TV reception but a great school library and surrounded by a national forest which was great for letting the imagination go. College, of course, because that's what was expected.
Married a secret agent who is now somewhere in the witness protection program followed by marriage #2 to a garbage collector who brought his work home. #3 was a pig farmer and #4--what the heck was his name anyway? Throughout the revolving door of spouses, (you do believe all this, right) I wrote. And wrote some more. A pile of space operas, category romance, and Native American historicals using my own name. When the erotica market took off, I clawed my way onboard and now write for Kensington Aphrodisia, Ellora's Cave, Samhain, and Loose-Id. Mostly I do capture/prisoner stuff 'cause that's my fav fantasy.
Enough about me except that I also birthed a couple of male babies who are now grown and, thank goodness, gainfully employed with good women in their lives.
And truth is, there's only been one husband--who else would put up with me?
