3.0 out of 5 stars At least the kid didn't disappear, August 9, 2005
This review is from: Night Jasmine (Blossoms Of The South) (Silhouette Special Edition) (Paperback)
ISBN 0373098383 - Just another romance novel to me, probably a good one to fans. Only two things made it stand out from the pack - it began with the guy and his emotional situation and the child didn't get mentioned and then neglected for the rest of the book.

For work reasons, Dr. Hunter Powell finds himself in Louisiana, where his ex-lover happens to live. While there, he comes upon a store called Small Miracles where a red-headed woman, Marla, somehow has him buying a music box - the sort of cute clutter Hunter had no interest in at all. But he's doing all sorts of uncharacteristic things, like asking Marla for directions and seeking out Aimee. Not sure why he's come to see her, Aimee isn't absolutely thrilled. They'd parted ways three years before because Hunter remained haunted by his past and was unable to love anyone and she'd run home to the bayou and her family. There, she'd had Hunter's son, much to his not-exactly-pleased shock.

The ending is no surprise, it never is, but the role that Roubin, Aimee's father, and Oliver, their son, play in the relationship is a nice surprise - and not the only ones! To learn the secret of the miracle that lets Hunter let go of the past and love again... you'll have to read the book.
