5.0 out of 5 stars Bas is REAL good....
Sexy, suave and steamy - Sebastian "Bas" Steele is that and then some. In "Night Heat" the Steele family's former bad boy shows us that it's good to be bad. This second installment of Ms. Jackson's "Forged of Steele" series ("Solid Soul" is the first) is sizzling.

Successfully rich and gorgeous in his own right, Bas is ordered to take a three month...

5.0 out of 5 stars Bas is REAL good...., August 28, 2006
This review is from: Night Heat (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Sexy, suave and steamy - Sebastian "Bas" Steele is that and then some. In "Night Heat" the Steele family's former bad boy shows us that it's good to be bad. This second installment of Ms. Jackson's "Forged of Steele" series ("Solid Soul" is the first) is sizzling.

Successfully rich and gorgeous in his own right, Bas is ordered to take a three month sabbatical away from his hectic position at Steele Corporation. Inadvertently, he winds up in Tennessee to carry out the wishes of a good friend's will - to oversee a corporation in which he now owns a fourth.

Jocelyn Mason is proper, gutsy and passionate. When her father leaves her and her sister the family business, she had no idea that he also bequeathed a portion of the business to "too-fine-for-his-own-good" Bas Steele.

Needless to say, Jocelyn is livid about the arrangement. She doesn't need Bas in her perfectly planned life and she certainly doesn't want him telling her how to run HER company. Yet, she can't stop staring at him or drooling over him. Although, he's only there to fulfill the terms of the will, Bas can't help see Jocelyn as a beautiful and intelligent spitfire, as well as a delectable challenge. So you know what happens next... enter the heat!

Ms. Jackson continues to keep me mesmerized with her brilliance. For me, romance includes passion, deep affection and make-you-scream love scenes. In "Night Heat" Ms. Jackson delivers without fail. For a little heat of your own -- day or night -- grab this book and then, that special someone. Great book!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Heat is On......, August 30, 2006
This review is from: Night Heat (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Ms. Jackson's writing expertise has manifested itself once again in the form of Night Heat.

The hero is fine and sexy Sebastian (Bas), second oldest of the Steele brothers, Steele Corporation. Jocelyn is the headstrong heroine and part owner (with Bas) of her father's construction company.

Forced to take a vacation for his health, Bas heads to small town USA and encounters more than he bargained for. This is a story of simmering passion manifested by both upon initial eye contact. Bas isn't running from love, but he's not looking for it either, since he just got out of an engagement. Jocelyn is not looking period. But where and when fate, love, passion abound, anything can happen and does.

Night Heat also contains a very endearing peripheral plot involving Jocelyn's sister, Leah, and Reese, her lost love.

This is a page turner you won't and can't put down. You will not be disappointed, but are we ever with one of Ms. Jackson's books.

5.0 out of 5 stars There is a reason why if it says Brenda Jackson I buy it, September 5, 2006
This review is from: Night Heat (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Night Heat was so hot, I couldn't really sleep until I found out how Bas captured his woman. When we met him in Solid Soul I knew that he wasn't going to stay with Cassandra. Thank you Brenda for bring a woman like Joceyln Mason in to his life. She was the perfect mix of fire and desire.
It was really refreshing to see a heroine who was beautiful but still had edge to her.
I can not wait for the next Steele novel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Steele in Business, November 20, 2006

This review is from: Night Heat (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
"Night Heat" is Brenda Jackson's continuing story of the Steele men and their family. Night Heat features Sebastian "Bas" Steele, who goes the aid of an old friend, Jim Mason, owner of Mason Builders after the death of Jim. Before his death, Jim left a letter instructing Bas to help and watch over his daughter, Jocelyn Mason, who is intent on running Mason Builders. After Bas, who has been instructed by his doctor to take a rest period, goes to Newton Grove to check out Mason Builders company, he encounters Jocelyn, who has every intention of doing things her way. However, Bas is of the same mind and when Jocelyn and Bas come together, things heat up from their stubborness regarding the running of the company to their unbridled passion for each other. Sparks fly and embers burn long and heat up the night.

Ms. Jackson also reunites us with the other Steele family and fills us in on what's happening in their lives as well. Who will be the next Steele man to fall in love? I don't know, but I am looking forward to finding out!

4.0 out of 5 stars Steele meets steel..., September 28, 2007

This review is from: Night Heat (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Sebastian Steele has to change his lifestyle. Highly stressed from working eighteen hour days, he is ordered by his doctor to take three months off. Timing is everything, a friend, who had a positive impact on Sebastian's life, left him one-fourth ownership in his construction company. The will requires Sebastian spend a minimum of six weeks in Tennessee to help settle company issues.

Jocelyn Mason owns one-half of the company and her sister the other one-fourth.
Sebastian's arrival is met with stern opposition from Jocelyn, who has been running the company for the last eight months, she resents his presence. As confident as she is with where she has taken the company, she is leery of Sebastian; he is a corporate shark who swims with the big fish. Additionally, Jocelyn cannot ignore that he reminds her, more than she wants, she is a woman. When she realizes he plans to stay longer than the six weeks specified in the will, her patience snaps. As the two jockey for control, the boardroom loses some potency.

NIGHT HEAT, the second book in the Forged of Steel series, is fused with the hardness of steel and the sizzling heat that lingers when steel is torched. Again Jackson gives readers strong characters, sassy actions, and sweet tempered loving. There is a secondary story that fits well with the primary characters. Jackson shows how to balance love, lust, and turmoil in an invigorating way. Bring on the next 'steel magnolia' the soil has been properly tilled.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, September 11, 2006
This review is from: Night Heat (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
This is the second in a series "Forge of Steele" and the second novel I have read by Ms. Jackson. I was really taken aback with this one. I loved it!!! The story centers around Joclyn and Sabastian - two completely opposite people yet they feel sparks between them from their first meeting. Ms. Jackson has a wonderful way of moving you through story so gracefully that it does not appear to be a story at all. The story surrounding Leah and Reese was also wonderful. (I can see another story about them later) I can not say enough about how wonderful this story was. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

Peace and Blessing!!
