Comment: This book has already been well loved by someone else and that love shows. It MIGHT have highlighting, underlining, be missing a dust jacket, or SLIGHT water damage, but over-all itâ€TMs still a good book at a great price! (if it is supposed to contain a CD or access code, that may be missing)

Editorial Reviews

Review

Davey, a British illustrator, uses a striking palette of ocher, orange and cinnamon in this delightful debut, which recreates the imaginative pre-bedtime rituals of the aspiring titular knight. Simple, sweet and bound to induce sleep.
—The New York Times

Davey creates a visually striking celebration of the last imaginative hurrah before bedtime.
—Publishers Weekly

Every spread of this visually stunning British import is suitable for framing. Hip, stylized, beautifully composed cut-paper collages evoke the rich ornamentation of any self-respecting medieval fantasy, all saturated in a warm palette of deep gold, burgundy, rusts and oranges on what looks like handmade paper...A visual feast for very youngest fans of knights and castles.
—Kirkus Reviews

Thanks to the imagination of Owen Davey bedtime no longer needs to be something young ones try to prolong or even argue about, this talented artist/author has turned it into an adventure.

Noted for his amazing use of color, texture and pattern Davey works in both traditional and digital media. His images are fun, entertaining and informative as seen in Night Knight, a reinforced hardcover that will withstand many before bedtime readings.

We meet a young fellow who says, "For a knight like me, going to bed is a great adventure." (For many youngsters that is certainly a new approach to bedtime.) And then step by step we follow him from heading down the hallway to finally snuggling into bed with "Though it has been a great adventure...even a knight needs a good night's sleep."

Each step is accompanied by eye-catching full page illustrations as youngsters are reminded to take a bath, brush their teeth, and put away their things.

Both affirmative and encouraging Night Knight would be a welcome addition to a young one's bedtime ritual.

My husband picked out this one, and it is an adorable way for a kid to view getting ready for bed. :)

I consider myself quite the connoisseur of Children's Books. We have a pretty extensive collection and I really love them. I stumbled across this book and was intrigued bc my maiden name is Knight. At the bargain price, I couldn't resist.

This arrived and I couldn't be happier. It is bright and colorful, quality printing and the front cover actually has a cut-out of the boy's cute face. The book goes through all of the usual nightly rituals, but takes them to epic proportions. It is a sweet story of a little boy's imagination that is seriously worth reading over and over and over. Perhaps even a great way to do a checklist with a child that maybe doesn't enjoy bedtime.

Anyway, love this. Will gift it and tell people about it because it is so, so, so cute.

A couple of weeks ago I decided to search for some kind of "sword and sorcery" fantasy book appropriate for my 20 month old son. Night Knight seemed like a good bet, and I ordered it. Happy to say he loved it from the first read, and now asks for "knight" just about every night... and I still love reading it to him! Much like Good Night Moon there's plenty of opportunity to improvise the story based on your little one, or add little embellishments along the way.

Great art, nice story, and a fantastic way to wind down the night.

A great bedtime story for young children. Helps reiterate bed time routines and in a cute way :) Also what little boy doesn't want to pretend they're a knight as they head to bed?
