A Lost Classic, June 22, 1999

This is a great reissue of a classic blowing session from 1975. Hey, my ultra-hip dentist used to play this on vinyl for me when I went to see him, so I never minded getting drilled n' filled! However a caveat, listener beware - the quality of the sound, a live recording, leaves a lot to be desired. But, kudos for 32 Jazz for reissuing a sleeper from an underrated, adventurous player/composer/arranger with stellar bandmates. RECOMMENDED (****)
