More About the Author

Award winning author Karen Kendall has always been a creative spirit, fleeing into the fictional world at an early age, emerging only to obtain a Bachelors' degree in something even less practical: Art History. After completing graduate coursework for an MA and working for several small museums and a large commercial art gallery, she realized her dream of being an author, and has since published over twenty novels. She now resides both in South Florida and in her various story worlds. Her husband Don tolerates her imaginary friends -- as long as she socializes with real ones, too!

5.0 out of 5 stars Remember the Beginning, October 19, 2006
This review is from: The Night We Met: The Panty Raid\Frame By Frame\Three Wishes (Harlequin Signature Select) (Mass Market Paperback)
For The Night We Met anthology, Pamela Morsi, along with two other authors, Colleen Collins and Karen Kendall, has written a story with the theme of remembering the moment when you meet the person that will change your life forever. Three couples celebrate this moment by going on a 3-day cruise in Bangkok.
THE PANTY RAID is the story written by Pamela Morsi and is about Dorothy Wilbur and Hank Brantly, both attending college in 1956.
Dot loves science and wants to use her knowledge after she graduates college. However, everyone, from her father to her professors think that she's only biding her time until she gets married.
Hank falls in love at first sight with Dot even if that first sight is drenched by a bucket of cold water. He is older than the other students as he served in the military. All his life, he's known what he wants to be - "a man". His dad died in World War II and he saw his mother work at various jobs trying to support her family until she met a man and remarried. When Hank meets Dot, he begins to understand what his mother must have gone through.
The story is well told and puts the reader in the time period of the 50's where she can feel the frustration that Dot feels. Even the Dean of Women at the school, who is female, informs Dot that a woman cannot have both a career and a family. Dot is determined to prove everyone wrong until she meets Hank. And she wonders, is everybody right?
As Dot and Hank get to know each other and as they attend a seasonal ball sponsored by the men in a nearby dorm, the reader keeps asking if the hero and heroine will be able to work out their personal conflicts to reach their happily-ever-after ending.
Check out Morsi's story, THE PANTY RAID, as well as the other two stories in the anthology, and remember the time you fell in love with your hero.

4.0 out of 5 stars fun look back, October 9, 2006
This review is from: The Night We Met: The Panty Raid\Frame By Frame\Three Wishes (Harlequin Signature Select) (Mass Market Paperback)
"The Panty Reid" by Pamela Morsi. In the 1950s, high school and college staff discouraged girls from studying advanced science curriculum. Dot knows that first hand, but loves science and is taking organic chemistry in spite of the scorn. During a panty raid fellow student Hank joins his male peers on lingerie larceny, but is caught by campus police. Attracted to one another, Hank wants the real Dorothy while Dot wonders if the man she loves means costing her dream of becoming a scientist.

"Frame by Frame" by Karen Kendall. World Sophisticate Travel and Lifestyle Magazine Editor Addison warns super talented photographer Pete that he must stop terrorizing those involved with his on site shoots; to keep him in line she sends her assistant Natalie. To his shock, he is attracted to his "guard" while she reciprocates as the big bad wolf's bite is tender.

"Three Wishes" by Colleen Collins. In 1971 San Francisco Chronicle junior reporter Christie is undercover working on an assignment on how it feels to be an antiwar activist. At the military recruiting station, she tries to get military recruits to sign her petition. Air Force Captain Mac demands she leave, but she refuses so he has arrested, but not before he kisses her. That night he bails her out so that she can spend Thanksgiving with loved ones, which turns out to be him.

The three couples are on a tour in Thailand when they exchange the tales of their first meeting with their life mate. The authors provide solid contributions, but especially fascinating are the feels for the 1950s and 1971 as we've come a long way baby.
