Carol Davis Luce's first novel, Night Stalker, was also her first sale. "A dandy read," wrote author Tony Hillerman. It went into three printings and became the flagship for the sub-genre "Woman in Jeopardy" at Kensington Publishers--strong heroines pitted against evil opponents. I absolutely loved Night Passage. The characters were so beautifully drawn, I found myself truly caring about them as if they were real people. At the end of the story, I felt sad that I wouldn't journey with them anymore. I'd never experienced that with a novel before. The mystery was chilling, the descriptions gorgeous, the writing absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend this book!

If you have never read any of Ms. Luce's books this is a good one to start on. Like all of her books the keep you moving and you can't wait to finish but when your done your disappointed because it was so good you didn't want it to end. The book gives you a true feel for small town Nevada. I just wish she would hurry up and write another book.

I am a reading intervention teacher for 1st-3rd graders. I read a lot. So far, my favorite book has been "Last To Die," by James Grippando. I rate it a 10 of 10, and have not read anything nearly comparable until "Night Passage." Wow. The author had me all throughout the story. At several points, I thought I finally had it figured out. Nope. I love a book that hooks me and makes me think. This is certainly one that I will recommend to others. I was soooo hooked, I finished it in six hours. It really was a fantastically crafted tale.
