So far, my favorite book has been "Last To Die," by James Grippando.

This book is now out in electronic form and is well worth it if you cannot get the paperback.

She keeps you guessing until the very end and you don't want to stop until the end.

I am a reading intervention teacher for 1st-3rd graders. I read a lot. So far, my favorite book has been "Last To Die," by James Grippando. I rate it a 10 of 10, and have not read anything nearly comparable until "Night Passage." Wow. The author had me all throughout the story. At several points, I thought I finally had it figured out. Nope. I love a book that hooks me and makes me think. This is certainly one that I will recommend to others. I was soooo hooked, I finished it in six hours. It really was a fantastically crafted tale.

I absolutely loved Night Passage. The characters were so beautifully drawn, I found myself truly caring about them as if they were real people. At the end of the story, I felt sad that I wouldn't journey with them anymore. I'd never experienced that with a novel before. The mystery was chilling, the descriptions gorgeous, the writing absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend this book!

If you have never read any of Ms. Luce's books this is a good one to start on. Like all of her books the keep you moving and you can't wait to finish but when your done your disappointed because it was so good you didn't want it to end. The book gives you a true feel for small town Nevada. I just wish she would hurry up and write another book.

This is the first story I read by Carol and it hooked me for life! I originally bought this book because I liked the cover and the blurb on the back sounded interesting. I was quite surprised at how good it was. From that point on, I searched high and low for her books and now have the complete set. The story gives the reader a good feel for what Nevada is really like when you get away from Las Vegas, especially with the many mining towns that are scattered throughout the state. Great characters, high suspense, and a plot that kept me guessing right until the end. This book is now out in electronic form and is well worth it if you cannot get the paperback. Highly recommended.

Like all of Carol Davis Luce's books that I have read, "Night Passage" will grab hold of you and refuse to release you until the bitter end. Another winner that's sure to captivate you with characters, plot and suspense.

My only disappointment in reading was the lack of space between sections. I was reading along about Roni's activities and the next sentence was miles away with another character. After a paragraph I thought, "what the...." and would go back a few paragraphs to see what I missed. Nothing. So I mentally placed line spacing to bring me to that next segment. Unfortunately that happens a lot in this kindle version. It definitely didn't take from the story or the spellbinding addiction.

All in all - excellent.

As for the overall book storyline, it was okay, and I kept reading to see how long it would take the protagonists to figure out who was doing the killing. Roni Mayfield wasn't much of an investigative reporter. With as much experience as the author indicated she had, you would have thought she would have come in demanding the sheriff open an investigation. Everything had to fall into her lap before she finally did something. The crush on the geologist was a little too pat. And, way too many people died, for such a small town, before anyone took a real interest in what was happening. However, the book allowed me to pass the time with a big "are you for real" smile on my face.

The story kept me guessing, which I enjoyed. It is a good 'who done it' story...a quick read, perfect when you just want to be entertained for a few hours.
