It's funny...when I think of Eddie Holman, I instantly think, "Oh,yeah, the guy who sang "Hey There Lonely Girl." Well...imagine my surprise when I came across a "homemade" (read: bootleg)slow-jam CD titled "Love to Love--1977" and I knew (and possessed) all of the tracks except track #5. When I first heard it, I remarked that it sounded like a mature Eddie Holman, but it couldn't be...after all, he had ridden off into the sunset after the 1970 album, right? I put the disc in a computer which told me the names and artists of the tracks and...I'll be damned! It WAS Eddie Holman! Naturally, when I went to my local record store, the CD was waaaaay out of print. So, I went online and ordered it from amazon.com. The album itself isn't much, but this song, titled "You Make My Life Complete," is a MUST-HAVE. This is a slow jam that was seriously overlooked; it should have been a hit! Especially at the end, he mixes his trademark fragile, aching falsetto with his background singers, making sure they have his back, and the result is a sublime yet rousing slow-jam. Do yourself a favor and check it out!

Eddie Holman's "A Night To Remember" is one of the most (unjustly) underappreciated albums of the late-1970s. Eddie's plaintive and soulful vocals are scintillating on such superb numbers as "You Make My Life Complete", "Time Will Tell", "Immune To Love" and "It's Over". Although it does have a few Disco tracks "A Night To Remember" is a classic Philly Soul album produced by the dynamite team of Ron Baker, Norman Harris and Earl Young. Originally released on Salsoul Records in 1977.

This was Eddie Holman's only album for Salsoul Records and is a very powerful set of Philly Soul. Considering that it was released in 1977 (when Disco ruled) it has many more ballads than dance tracks. Great production from Norman Harris, Ron Tyson and Earl Young.

I bought this CD for one song and it is beautiful. However,I don't like anything else on it. What's worse, I have found two more songs by Eddie Holloman on two other CDs that I would like to have. Needless to say, buying the three of these cuts individually, would not be as much as the one CD. I've learned my lesson and my next purchase will be an MP3 player!

having been a new customer on amazon,i have ordered some cd's that i had on vinyl from the past, and the service i have had has been excellent.i keep going on amazon to look to see what i can order next.the cd's that i ordered were eddie holman takes me back to yhe 70's.showing my age now.

I basically wanted the CD for one song, "You make my life complete". Beautiful song! Rest of CD wasn't as good.
