I was glad to see these two books come out in a dual reprint. These were among the first Tami Hoag books I read and enjoyed thoroughly. Loved the way she continued the storyline into the second book with the prosecuting attorney. No one does dark mystery better than Hoag.

I absolutely love these two books. I couldn't put either of them down. Tami Hoag is a master of suspense. The characters are believable, lovable, and realistic. I could hear and see them in my mind. The only complaint I have is that I want another book in the series so I know what happens to these people I've grown to feel like I know!
Lock the doors, hug your kids if you have any, and settle in for a great night of reading with either of these books. As a true dog lover, I appreciate the canine characters who make their way into Tami's books, too. It's obvious she knows and loves animals.

Fantastic books back to back, keeps you guessing to the end with twists and turns all through both books. Excellent reading couldn't put it down.

Very Annoying,

This review is from: Night Sins/Guilty as Sin (Paperback)
From the start, Megan was the most annoying character I have come across. She is aggressive, even insulting, to her new boss because she feels as the only woman in the police department, she has to prove herself. And she maintains that aggression throughout for no apparent reason. Does she think her men-colleagues like her better for it? There are pages and pages of padding that get the story no further along. The conviction that each new suspect is THE ONE, which he is obviously not, was also irritating. I found the entire story ridiculous, emotional outburst overdone, and everything repeated again and again. Most of the sex pages could easily be skipped and the rest drastically shortened. I was ready to stop reading several times but decided to stick it out. Not worth the effort. I have only read the first book and doubt if I will read the second.

Tami Hoag is an excellent writer. Nightly Sins/Guilty as Sin held me in suspense. In fact, I read it in two days because I couldn't wait till I got to the end of book

I totally agree with the review "did everyone read a different book"...This was my first Tami Hoag book and will be my last. I couldn't wait to finish this book and could not relate to the women in it. Megan (the main character) could not keep her legs together long enough to do her job, which was to find an 8 year old boy, kidnapped by a crazed phycho. After given the chance to become the first female agent, she constantly doubts herself, has cat fights with the news media, sleeps with her boss, all while the poor 8 yr old is still missing. The characters were too busy getting "involved" instead of concentrating on the task at hand. Enough of the sex....find the missing boy!!!! As for the twists and turns, please....not enough for those of us who are used to reading good mysteries.

I feel like I must have read a different book than the rest of the reviewers. This book is dull, slow, repetitive, and insulting to women.
Why can't a woman be a strong person who can have a career and not suffer for it; needing a man to validate her life? A little good editing could have condensed this book to about 1/4 it's size. This is the first book I have purchased for my Kindle that I wish I could return. I know it can be done, but since I bought it in February and finally finished that would be dishonest. No, I don't read that slow. I just kept on stopping and reading something (anything) better.

Love her style of writing. I am 53, my mother 78, daughter is 26, and her friend 41. We all love her style of writting. I have read: Deeper than the Dead, excellent (can not wait to read the sequel that came out in Dec. 2010), A Thin Dark Lin, Nightly Sins, and Guilty as Sin. I have ordered two more of her books! Can't wait!

I've never written a book review before but loved the way this story held my attention. Kept me guessing who the real killer or killers were. I'm a new fan of Tami hoag.
