4.0 out of 5 stars A personal and convincing defense of astrology, October 4, 1999

This review is from: The Night Speaks: A Meditation on the Astrological World View : Trace the Wonder of Astrology and the Human/Cosmos Connection (Paperback)
Best for those who already know at least a little about Western astrology, this is a book that may lead you to reconsider your biases about the discipline. "The Night Speaks" differs from his wonderful introductory volumes ("The Inner Sky" and its successors), where Forrest explains the mechanics and application of astrology. Here, Forrest uses his personal and engaging style to explain why one might believe that astrology actually works. Using, in part, evidence taken from scientific experimentation and theories, Forrest makes a convincing case. Along the way he offers some answers to questions skeptics might have, such as why a persons's natal chart is fixed at the time of birth, rather than any other time (such as the time of conception). A bit loosely organized, it is nevertheless a good read. It is also a source of friendly fuel for conversations about astrology's validity.
