Book Description

June 29, 2004
Josy Warner has to get out of town—fast. A favor for a friend has plunged her into deadly danger—and sent the topflight fashion designer fleeing New York to a place where no one knows her name. The tiny Wyoming town of Thunder Creek may be more than the answer to a prayer. It could hold the key to her past…and the only family she has left in the world. The last thing she expects is to fall for a rugged man of the land—a handsome widowed sheriff who calls to the wild places in her own heart.

Josy Warner’s arrival in Thunder Creek has set tongues wagging and ranchers vying for her attention. But if there’s one thing Ty Barclay knows, it’s a woman in trouble. As his attraction to the secretive beauty deepens into fierce desire, Ty vows to keep Josy safe at all costs…even when the dangers of his job bring a killer after them. Now, with perilous night crashing around them, Ty and Josy are fighting for their lives—and a love that can lead to the most glorious future of all: forever in each other’s arms.

Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

A typical suspense scenario receives a fresh spin in Gregory's newest contemporary romantic intrigue (after Thunder Creek), which gallops out of the starting gate when up-and-coming New York fashion designer Josy Warner gets a frantic call from Ricky Sabatini, her old friend from when they were both in foster care. Having been framed for a crime he didn't commit, Ricky needs Josy to hold on to a package, the contents of which could clear his name. The request is simple enough, until the danger escalates, forcing Josy to flee to Thunder Creek, Wyo., the home of her only living relative, her birth grandmother Ada Scott. The suspense gives way to tension of another sort as Josy becomes involved with Ty Barclay, the recently widowed town sheriff, and tries to figure out how to introduce herself to Ada. Gregory expertly weaves the various plot threads together, creating a tight, well-balanced story that packs an emotional punch. Though the contents of Ricky's package prove worth the wait, the happenings in Thunder Creek steal the show. Indeed, with its sage-scented beauty and down-home friendliness, Thunder Creek stands out as one of the book's most compelling characters. Fortunately for readers, Gregory packs her tale with so many twists and turns that life is never dull in Thunder Creek.

4.0 out of 5 stars Another great book in this series..., February 28, 2007

* Book #1 in this series, Thunder Creek, was amazing. I gave it a 5 star rating. This book although I only gave it a 4 star, it was almost as great as the first. The chemistry & romance wasn't as deep and for the most part it was more of a mystery than the relationship between Josy & Ty. The mystery part was really good though. I usually figure out everything but I kept being surprised by who was who. I highly recommend this 3 book series.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good, May 21, 2010

CORTEGA (The Great North) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Night Thunder (Mass Market Paperback)
This was a decent read, a little too much about the bad guys (you don't care about them) and a little too little of the romancing between Ty and Josey.

Josey flees New York and heads to Thunder Creek, where her grandmother lives. However, Josey never knew her grandmother, as the grandmother gave up Josey's mother at birth. Josey got caught in the middle of a corruption scandal involving her foster brother, Ricky, who left Josey holding a valuable diamond that bad guys are after. In Thunder Creek, Josey is standoffish and doesn't want to get too close to her neighbor, the handsome sheriff, Ty Barclay, who is nursing a 2 year hurt since his wife died.

Ty is suspicious of Josey, and neither wants much to do with the other as they both have their own baggage. But, Ada, Josey's grandmother, throws them together, and they begin a friendship/lust for each. When Josey gets too in over her head with the criminals after her, Ty rescues her and tries to help her out her jam, once she finally confesses the trouble she's in.

There is a showdown, and they admit they love each other, and everyone winds up happy.

It was pretty good.
