I just got this book in the mail yesterday and I just finished it this evening. I usually don't read these type if romance novels, but as a straight Black man that is interested in American Indian culture and is an aspiring author, I found it completely all that! I am old school when it comes to Interracial American Indian love stories, where good guy wins, gets the girl and they live happily ever after. This book was off the Hook. Thank you Karen Kay.

This book is MY FAVORITE! Karen Kay has outdone herself. The way Night Thunder swoops in and saves her from his cousin and then keeps her protected. I cant wait for more blackfoot series. I read this book in one night. I just could not put it down...

I truly enjoyed Night Thunder's Bride. Ms. kay did an amazing job describing every little detail making it very easy for the reader to picture every nuance. The romance is a memorable one, and that made this book that much easier to read.

I only found one item about the book that kept distracting me from the love story. I found the setting very hard to believe in. I kept catching myself thinking "that wouldn't really happen", and it was never in reference to the spiritual side of the story.

Even with that said, I am still glad I read it, and would still recommend it to others. Just try not to let the far-fetched aspects deter you from what is an otherwise wonderfully written love story.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of Karen Kay's Best, June 20, 2001
This review is from: Night Thunder's Bride (Blackfoot Warrior) (Mass Market Paperback)
I'm just starting to read the Karen Kay series of books, but when I read this one, it had action, romance, mystery and magic!!! This book covers the basis of everything that is needed in a novel, even the love scenes make you envy the characters. Night Thunder is everything that makes a man a man, and his love for Rebecca is so real. This is a book I would recommend to everyone who loves Indian Romances, like myself.

5.0 out of 5 stars So Good., February 26, 2003
This review is from: Night Thunder's Bride (Blackfoot Warrior) (Mass Market Paperback)
Really loved the supernatural twist. Don't know why I waited so long to review it. It is sensual and fun to read. I put it in my top romantic reads along with Anything, My Love, by Cynthia Simmons and Fantasy Lover by Kenyon. All sizzling page turners you should not miss.

Another great novel from Karen! Her characters move off the page and into virtual reality with their dialogue and humor. Night Thunder is all that and more. He has my vote for hero. A long time in coming - it is wonderful to read the true essence of the American Indian.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellentNative American/Anglo historical romance, June 3, 1999

This review is from: Night Thunder's Bride (Blackfoot Warrior) (Mass Market Paperback)
In the 1834 Northwest territory, Night Thunder ponders the anger and rage of Strikes the Bear towards the white woman. He understands why his brother loathes whites after what happened to the Indian's wife and their sister. Still the woman has done nothing to Strikes the Bear and Night Thunder promised to protect her. How can he honor his pledge to the frightened person while respecting the Blackfoot rule of never raising a hand against a brother? Night Thunder takes the only path available. He makes the captive Rebecca Cothern his spouse so that his brothers can no longer harm her.

Night Thunder expects Rebecca to be his full wife in every sense of the word (that is using a Blackfoot dictionary). However, she fears for her future as she wonders how she will adapt to living among his people. Worse yet to the former prisoner is the fact that she burns with desire for Night Thunder, but is frightened by her feelings. As she learns more about her savior, she falls in love with him. He also loves her. However, can she forget her former plans for her future and live a lifetime of love in a different world?

NIGHT THUNDER'S BRIDE, the third novel in Karen Kay's Blackfoot trilogy, is a warm Indian romance that provides readers a taste of a bygone way of life. The story line is entertaining as the lead protagonists struggle to surmount their different cultural mindset so that they can find a lasting relationship between them. Fan of the sub-genre will enjoy this novel as much as readers gained pleasure from the two previous books, GRAY HAWK'S LADY and WHITE EAGLE'S TOUCH.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mystical, Romantic, and Unique, October 8, 2003

This review is from: Night Thunder's Bride (Blackfoot Warrior) (Mass Market Paperback)
I loved the spiritual side of this story. It makes the romance between Night Thunder and Rebecca unique and deep- rooted. The story as a whole, captivating.
Night Tunder is a hero in every sence of the word. Honorable, brave, and powerful. He is also a Medicine Man, who is able to communicate with spirits from the past. Rebecca and Night Thunder are both shocked to discover that she also has "great medicine." The two finding that they can communicate even when separated. Romantic!
Rebecca is a bit annoying at first, because she actually considers giving up Night Thunder for the sake of wanting to attend a ball. (Is she nutty?!) But thankfully she comes around. And as dedicated as he is, Night Thunder finds a way to give her everything she ever wanted. Very Romantic!
This book was great from start to finish. Be sure to read "White Eagle's Touch" first! It will give you an introduction to Night Thunder's and Rebecca's characters.
