Biography

Tab Benoit is a Cajun man who’s definitely got the blues. Born November 17, 1967, he grew up in Houma, Louisiana. A guitar player since his teenage years, he hung out at the Blues Box, a ramshackle music club and cultural center in nearby Baton Rouge run by guitarist Tabby Thomas. Playing guitar alongside Thomas, Raful Neal, Henry Gray and other high-profile regulars at the club, Benoit ... Read more in Amazon's Tab Benoit Store

Editorial Reviews

From the Artist

"All the guests on this record - Kim Wilson and Jimmy Hall and all the rest - make this a lot different from what I normally do on stage every night," says Tab Benoit. "These aren't guys who come to every show I play. They're all legends, and it's a real honor to have them come and play at my show. And to hear them sing my songs is a really great experience."

Product Description

Tab Benoit travels from the bayou on a blues trek with his 2008 album, Night Train To Nashville with Louisiana's Leroux, Kim Wilson, Waylon Thibodeaux, Jim Lauderdale and Jumpin' Johnny. In 2003, Tab formed an organization promoting awareness of coastal wetlands preservation known as "Voice of the Wetlands." Tab is featured in the current IMAX film, Hurricane on the Bayou. 11 tracks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Great Album Even Live! May 12, 2008
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Tab Benoit once again proves why he is in such high demand at the blues shows that he plays all over the country. I have been a fan of tab since I was first introduced to his music back in 1998. I'm not really a fan of live albums but for those of you who have seen Tab live you know that its a good thing. This albums has all the heart and soul that tab pours into each and every one of his albums. I'm also glad to see that Lousianna Leroux also got be on this album as well. Listening to it makes me wait with anticipation for his next show at the Fargo Bluesfest this coming August. The choice of songs for this album creates a perfect flow for this album as well with the introductory Night Train to the soulful Darkness to the upbeat Lost in Your Lovin to the old school sounds of Stackolina which closes out the album. Overall I rate it right up there with the rest of his albums and a must have for any fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tab's lastest August 3, 2008
Format:MP3 Music
I stumbled across Tab in the early 90's. I was taken by his unique voice and guitar style. The first cd I purchased was Nice & Warm. Every new cd gets better. He also plays drums for fun, and pretty good at that. If you get a chance, catch him live. You won't regret it.

This is a live concert CD, containing some of the best Louisiana Cajun Blues that you'll ever hear. Plus, it contains the band, Louisiana's LeRoux & Jimmy Hall (lead singer of the Southern Rock Band "Wet Willie"). Jimmy Hall plays some great harmonia music on this live CD. The entire CD is fantastic from the very beginning to the very end. This is great live music, definitely album oriented music. I really love the performance of the song "New Orleans Ladies". This Southern Rock Athem, was a big hit for Louisiana's LeRoux, back in 1978. On the first verse it has Tab Benoit singing, on the 2nd verse it has Jimmy Hall singing (he has a very soulful voice), also, you have Louisiana's LeRoux singing & playing along throughout the song, & the entire concert. I highly recommend this one.
