Beautiful picture of Maine's past!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Night Train at Wiscasset Station (Paperback)
"Night Train at Wiscasset Station" is a masterpiece. Lew Dietz's words, interspersed with Kosti Ruohomaa's photographs, paint a picture of a time gone by in a state that can be beautiful, haunting, desolate and welcoming all at the same time. I grew up in Maine, and this books makes me nostalgic for home. A must-read for anyone who's ever been touched by the state of mind that is Maine.

A slice in time,

I grew up in San Diego. San Diego was a sleepy, very small city in the 50's; still, why did I find this book, about a region a continent away, compelling? Although purchased for the dramatic, nostalgic; yet very simple black and whites, I found the storyline transporting me back to a very yesteryear. Dietz' way with words was a storytelling diamond in the rough. If you can find a copy, see what it does for you.
