Many of the ideas and special effects were ground breaking, but the dialog is well done.

Although the technology really dates itself in this series, I really liked this '77-'78 television version of LOGAN'S RUN - which starred Gregory Harrison in the title role as "Logan", Heather Menzies, Randy Powell (as "Francis") and Donald Moffitt.

The main story premise of the original movie has been translated over to this made for, and short lived television series. It is interesting to note that there is a "council" of aged white haired men revealed in the pilot who are responsible for keeping the City of Domes operating - this despite the ongoing public 'propaganda' that no one lives past 30 without renewal of Carousel. Francis is even solicited to join the council.

The series enjoyed a nice roster of guest stars which included:
Linden Chiles, Angela Cartwright, Leslie Parrish, Lisa Eilbacher, Mel Ferrer, Hank Brandt, Kim Cattrell, Christopher Stone, Richard Roat, Ed Nelson, Nicholas Hammond, Lance DeGault, Mariette Hartley, Barbara Babcock, George Maharis, Gerald McRaney, and Nehemiah Persoff.

Very clean family friendly programming. Glad to see it added to the instant video format.

Closed Captioning is available for the hearing impaired.

I watched this show back in high school and haven't seen it since then, so I decided to try out the Amazon Unbox download of the pilot episode. It is about an hour and 15 minutes long, so the pilot must have been a TV movie back in the day. I enjoyed my nostalgic trip enough to go back and buy the whole season, so now I'm working my way through the other episodes. The show was cheesy at times, but it's fun to remember what sci-fi television was like back in the day. Enjoy the 1980s hairstyles in the post-apocalyptic world of the future!

The picture quality seemed fine to me on my small standard-definition TV -- of course don't expect much if you're watching it on a big-screen HDTV or something like that.

Wow. I was totally unfamiliar with a tv series based on one of my favorite movies. I have watched Logan's Run many, many times over the years. But here was a chance to expand on the movie. I downloaded the entire season and over the past several weeks have been enjoying all 14 episodes immensely. The two stars are evenly paired, but who could ever resist Heather Mendiez (now Mrs. Robert Ulrich) in that barely there outfit. She had a fresh face that fit perfectly into the theme of the show and carries out all of her scenes with aplomb. It's too bad this show only lasted the one season. I would love to see more of Jessica, Logan and REM. Many of the ideas and special effects were ground breaking, but the dialog is well done. Definetly a MUST have for any fan of the movie.

This 1 season wonder was completely watchable and had a good heart. It even found a place for old people. Wrinkles created cameo parts for old actors, which took part of the load off of Social Security! It was a series where shiny teens were even interested in parents of parents. I kid, but I could munch a few more boxes of microwave popcorn watching 10 more seasons of this future action flicks series.

It wasn't the best Sci-Fi of the time but far from the worst. it was solid story telling within the limitations of 1970s censors and sponsors. The acting was top notch as well as the writing. They really did a good job trying to develop the Logan's Run Verse and told some good compelling stories with messages meant for the 1970s audience that still holds up
Today. It was refreshing to see moral characters not weighed down with overly complex dysfunctional characters of today's story telling.

Special effects would be laughable today, but I like the story line and the actors. Heather Menzines reminds me of Psych's Maggie Lawson.

Great special effects and blue screen for the late 70's and on a limited TV budget. The acting isn't half bad. One other project I liked Heather in was the TV movie Gargoyles.
