Some of the visual special effects are extremely good.
I would have liked it much more if I had not read the book, I know the book was far too "meaty" for just a movie, but some of the stuff was just strange.
Unfortunately, the dvd only has hearing impaired English subtitles, and the English dub is really, really bad.

I'd like to know this, too. As far as I'm concerned, Night Watch or Day Watch without the theatrical subtitles is not worth buying. The version (with big sunglasses on the cover) on Amazon.co.uk has the original theatrical subtitles, but it's in PAL format, not NTSC. Sadly, there doesn't appear... Read More

|What languages in Night Watch and Daywatch?||
Night Watch is in Russian except for a few minutes at the beginning and end that are in English. I watched it with the subtitles but I think there was also the choice to watch it dubbed in English although that could be distracting too.
