I'm more of the type that listens to heavy metal or harder rock then Daphne Loves Derby, but every so often i like to calm it down and listen to something mellow, and this is the cd i listen to. It's a great cd and everyone should buy it.

I loved the little bit of pickup in the beat of Daphne Loves Derby's new album. I was impressed to hear them keep the same great lyrics, vocals and sound but adding a little bit more pickup. Great album and I recommend it to anyone who's a long time Daphne fan or just looking for a great new band.

This album demonstrates a clear example of indie music while getting rid of the high pitched screeches and the dark lyrics of many of the emo albums nowadays. Plus, the music in the album demonstrates the ability of the musicians and ONLY the musicians with minor guests. I'm just saying that these songs are written and and then recorded the same way without reaching the hands of hired professionals that edit the music in various ways to suit the media's taste.

Daphne Loves Derby definitely has a specific sound, so if you dislike a higher pitched "emo" voice then steer clear of this one, otherwise you are in for a treat.

This is the 3rd album put out by DLD but don't think they they have lost their luster because of that. Overall the album contains some great hooks that will keep the songs buzzing in your head hours after you have taken a listen. Songs vary from soft("How's It Going to End?") to catchy ("That's Our Hero Shot"). Because the soothing voice of the lead singer (Kenny Choi) this makes great music to listen to in the background.

Some tracks to check out are "Miniature Christmas Tree", "Iron in the Backseat", and "Hello Color Red"

If you are an older DLD fan you'll notice that the overall sound of the band has not changed much but the sound feels more refined.

Overall, if you enjoyed On the Strength of All Convinced or Closing Down the Pattern Department then you will be sure to love "Good Night, Witness Light"

Daphne Loves Derby is one of my favorite band, and Good Night Witness Light is a must-have for all fans of the indie/pop/emo genres.

This band is amazing. They are calm, but at the same time they invoke different emotions. The song "Our Hero Shot" is amazing, especially because they use a marching band, which is very different. And the song "Cue the Sun" is very emotional! The singers voice is calming, but slightly emo at the same time. Very good cd for those who like indie/emo.

I'd seen some good reviews for this album so I bought it but I found it tedious, predictable and unoriginal. No bombast, no standouts, nothing to write home about - completely trapped in a genre.
