NiteRider lights are the right stuff!!
Maavalous1
That might justify taking away a star, but I appreciate the fact that the warranty covers this beyond 1 year and that customer service was so easy to deal with.

It uses the same mount as the larger models have been using for years, so swapping lights onto different helmets and bikes is easy.

The light was working great until I went to charge it for the first time yesterday. I plugged it into my computer when I got to work and was surprised the red led light was still on after six hours of charging (supposed to charge in 3.5hrs). So, I left if plugged in for another 2+ hours then went to turn it on when I was leaving and nothing happened. The red led just stays on and occasionally flashes to blue. I held down the button for more than 15 seconds in case the lock had been engaged and fiddled with pushing the button in different ways for about 10 minutes. Nothing worked and I had to ride home in the dark. The is especially frustrating because I had problems with the charger and LED indicator on the last light I bought from NR (a MiNewt USB 150) and had to send it in for warranty service after 1 month of ownership (this one I have only had for about 2 weeks).

I have reached out to their customer service and will see if there is a fix, but most likely I will be sending this back for an exchange or refund.

I saw some reviews marking it down for mounting bracket. I can NOT testify that they are not right. But, I have had no issues on a road bike. For mountain use, I cannot say.
Great beam pattern and as bright as you could ask for. To be honest, my next one will be the 350. But not because the 220 is bad, just cause I can. With the 220 on a recent group ride, mine was the brightest usb chargeable micro light in the bunch. As bright as one guys separate battery light. Frankly... I still think it had the best color temperature and lumens of the bunch.
NiteRider lights are the right stuff!! Pick the one that suits you and you won't be disappointed!

I use this light for daily commuting. It is plenty bright for even the darkest roads. After 15 months, the female USB charging port came loose, and i was unable to recharge. I sent it back to NR and they repaired for free. It was a 10 day turnaround to get the light back. Very satisfied with customer service and the light. Not sure how its holds up in very wet weather, but it seems to work fine in light rain. I personnally don't feel the need to upgrade to a brighter light. I typically use the brightest setting in the morning and the strobe in the afternoon. Each charge lasts about 5 hours of riding.

I was at a couple of bike shops that spoke highly about these lights. I was considering a higher lumen but this was packaged with a tail light so I went with it. This bad boy puts out some great light. There are three settings and the tool less install was a snap. The local bike shops had this light and the tail light combo for $100. I was leery about spending that much on the lights but I am very pleased that I made the purchase.

If you are riding at night or during fading light this bike light will do the trick.

I like it, but don't love it.

Pros: Great price for a light with 220 lumen ability, compact space saving design, and the clamp design is better than I've seen and easy to get the light on and off. Also, the lock feature to prevent light from turning on is handy.

Cons: there is no indicator of how much battery life is remaining, it's either blue (good) or red (about 20 min warning before light shuts off). There is a rubber insert in the clamp mechanism that sits between the light and the handlebars. It's not attached to the light so it's possible to loose it. Also, I'm not crazy about the battery life, on low setting would like the battery to last longer than 4 hours.

I had an older and larger NiteRider light mounted on my helmet for lighting up what I'm looking at. That one finally failed after several years of MN year round weather abuse, so I replaced it with this one. It is slightly brighter than my old light, but just over half the size and weight. That's especially nice for the helmet mount. It uses the same mount as the larger models have been using for years, so swapping lights onto different helmets and bikes is easy. The light is bright and the beam focus is good. The button is easy to press, even with gloves on, but not so easy that I accidentally turn it on or off. It also works well as a flashlight in a pinch.

I have had an almost identical experience as @LT4LIF... love the light (I actually find myself using this as our household flashlight as well as for daily commuting), but after a little over a year of use, the USB charging port came loose and I had to send it in. That might justify taking away a star, but I appreciate the fact that the warranty covers this beyond 1 year and that customer service was so easy to deal with.
