Book Description

May 1, 2008 Harlequin Blaze (Book 394)

Sean O'Sullivan's claims that his family's landmark bar is the victim of City Hall shenanigans only means more work for Cleo Hollings, the mayor's number one mover and shaker. Since Sean's got her busy, she decides she'll keep Mr. Testosterone busy, too...but between the sheets.

Yet sleeping with the hunky O'Sullivan isn't that simple. Everyone said Sean would be inexhaustible--even unforgettable. Nobody warned her he was lovable, too. Now other clubs' drinks taste like dust. Nothing measures up to a nightcap--with a chaser of O'Sullivan stud!

More About the Author

It's such a strange twist of fate that I ended up as a writer. I swore up and down that I would never write, but everyone always shook their head and said, "Kathleen, you're going to be a writer." As fate would have it, they were right, and I wasn't (don't you hate that?)

My favorite part of writing is creating my characters. I fall in love with everyone in each book, and it's pure magic when it all comes to life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Full of wit, intrigue and sizzle!, May 5, 2008

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Nightcap (Harlequin Blaze) (Mass Market Paperback)
Sean O'Sullivan, a lawyer, is also part owner of the Prime bar with Daniel and Gabe, his two brothers. Gabe actually runs the bar and Daniel takes care of the books. Sean helps whenever needed and he handles the legalities of running the bar. He loves his life the way it is. His days are filled with his chosen profession and his nights are spent either helping out at Prime or with one of the many women who love him. He is not ready to settle down.

Cleo Hollings is the City Deputy Mayor. With all the responsibilities she has, there is usually little time for a social life or even sleep. She has a demanding career at the office, and takes care of her mother with Alzheimer's at home. Though she expects a lot from her employees, she expects no less, and at times even more, from herself. Between her demanding job, her mother and her nightly dreams that leave her unfulfilled, she craves more. In fact, she never realized how lonely she was until Sean O'Sullivan walks into her office. However, she is only looking for a quick escape. She does not have time for anything permanent.

Ever since renovations started at Prime, there have been problems with City Hall. Though Sean has handled each problem as it arose, Prime has now been shut down by several departments, all covered by City Hall. Deciding it is time to go to the top, Sean charms and bribes his way into the City Deputy Mayor's office. However, he is captivated when he sees the lovely politician for the first time. When Cleo promises to look into the situation, Sean is not satisfied and knows he must keep after her. After a couple meetings, he can't get her out of his mind. He knows she is `the one,' but wonders why she won't go out with him at night. Imagining Cleo is married - although she denies it - Sean hires a private investigator to find out about her. What will she say when she finds out he is having her investigated? Who is causing problems with Prime at City Hall?

NIGHTCAP, the third book in the Those Sexy O'Sullivans trilogy, is a steamy hot, romantic novel. Containing witty dialogue, sizzling romance, an intriguing plot and a whiff of mystery, this novel is a delight. Anticipation will keep readers turning pages to see what happens next as Sean - who is used to women falling at his feet - has to fight for Cleo's attention as he attempts to find out who is causing problems for Prime at City Hall. I highly recommend NIGHTCAP for those who love steamy romances. Those who enjoy this novel will also enjoy the first two books in this trilogy, SHAKEN AND STIRRED and SEX, STRAIGHT UP.

5.0 out of 5 stars O'Sullivan series, book three., May 2, 2008
This review is from: Nightcap (Harlequin Blaze) (Mass Market Paperback)
Sean O'Sullivan loves women. He never gets romantically attached and always lets go of each woman in some way that she leaves happy. Should Sean ever need any of his former lovers to help him with anything, they would jump at the chance. In fact, his network of women is how Sean keeps the family's landmark bar, Prime, open. For the past two years, someone in the mayor's office has been sending a lot of trouble Prime's way. Gabe, one of Sean's brothers, runs and operates Prime. There has been citations for health violations, electrical problems, street problems, and even historical problems. All citations without cause. But Sean is a medical malpractice lawyer. In the jungle of law, med-mal defense lawyers were the carnivores and Sean has decided it is time to challenge Tarzan (a.k.a. City Hall).

Ironically, it is Jane who really gets things done in City Hall. Cleo Hollins, Deputy Mayor of New York City, is running on very little sleep. In Cleo's world, vulnerabilities were carefully masked and hidden because there was always someone there waiting to take advantage. Currently on her plate is a four-day-old transit strike. Over eight million commuters are trying to get to work, and there is no buses, no subways. The last thing Cleo has time to worry about is a bar. Cleo cannot deny how attracted she is to Sean, but the transit negotiations take priority over her hormones. That is, until Sean taps into his network and helps deal with the strike. Perhaps they could help each other out, in business and in bed.

***** There is more going on than meets the eye here. Cleo also lives with and cares for her mother, who has Alzheimer's. Only those who have been close to and cared for someone with Alzheimer's can understand the full impact, the deteriorations, and the slow heart breaking agony which that one medical word covers. Author Kathleen O'Reilly describes it well. The author also knows that a tough bad boy like Sean needs an equally tough lady; and who better to stand toe-to-toe with a lawyer than a Deputy Mayor? When these two get together, in and out of bed, sparks fly. Romances by O'Reilly are sharp, witty, and takes no prisoners! Guaranteed to please. *****
