Book Description

June 14, 1999
18th century Europe is the setting as Tobyn Reyes finds himself the object of vampire Michel Dumas' obsession. A Gypsy grandmother's spell may not be enough to protect Tobyn as he struggles to retain his humanity. "From day into night, until the end of time, they shall not become one of these." No, Tobyn did not become one of these, but what was he to do when he became one of those?

Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

"From day into night, until the end of time, they shall not become one of these." With the prophetic words of a Gypsy grandmother's spell a journey into a compelling new universe begins in Nightchild: A Clans Novel. Tobyn Reyes believed his grandmother's spell would protect him. Instead it opened the door to a new realm of magic and immortality...

Tobyn was a man like no other: half Irish, half Spanish gypsy and all chovihano. Under the protection of his grandmother's spell, he enjoyed the glow of his own uniqueness. That glow caught the attention of another uncommon man, the vampire Michel Dumas. Vampire power plush gypsy magic yielded a situation none of them were prepared to face.

No, Tobyn, did not become one of 'these.' But what was he to do when he became one of 'those?'

A great novel, especially for a first novel by a young writer. I couldn't put it down and wait avidly for the next one. Nightchild, a Clans Novel takes you through both the darkness and light of war, vampires, and interpersonal relationships. Wonderfully done - Congratulations, J.A. Cummings.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Novel, March 31, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Nightchild: A Clans Novel (Paperback)
I extremely loved this book. The way the author combined human and inhuman emotions was excellent. The only thing that I wish is that the author does a sequel. It was released on June of 1999 and I hope that the author decides to continue with the great book that was started. I would recommended anyone to get this book. When I got it, it was so interresting that I read it in two days. That has never happened with a book before!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A fantastically spellbinding novel, June 28, 1999

This review is from: Nightchild: A Clans Novel (Paperback)
'Nightchild' was one of the most entertaining books I've read in a long time. It combined Romance, violence, incest, vampires, gypsies, suspense, drama, and mystery in one book. It was a captivating blend of reality and fantasy. Beautifully written, this novel seemed to take me through every emotion and has occupied my thoughts for the past many nights. A story of love and war, it traps you in a place that you never want to leave, with people that you wish you knew. I have to say it is definetly a great read that I'm sure to recommend to all of my friends.
